(Y/N's POV)

I knew the risks of adventuring with Bennett everyone in the guild always talked about how bad his luck was and how it would get you hurt or even killed, and at first, I didn't believe them it seemed like some shitty made up rumor so I always ignored them. That was until one day I saw him and his team coming back from an adventure everyone including him was bruised and bloody and they were all shooting him dirty looks as if he was the one that hurt them, from that day forward I stayed away from Bennett not because I wanted to or because I was scared of his bad luck but because my parents forced me to. They've always been overprotective and they became even more overprotective when I got my vision and started adventuring, the thought of me even going on an adventure terrified them, and as you can imagine seeing me walking around and hanging out with a living breathing bad luck charm didn't exactly calm their fears. So per their rules, I was to stay away from Bennett at all costs and that's what I did I would dodge him every time I saw him around the city and I would ignore him anytime he waved to me and that worked for a while until today.

I had just finished my commissions for the day and was heading home until Mr unlucky himself came charging directly at me causing me to topple over and land right onto the ground.

"Ah! Y/N I'm so sorry" Bennett exclaimed

"It's fine I'm ok," I say, picking myself up off the ground

"I'm sorta glad I ran into you though I really need your help," Bennett said.

Fuck just my luck he needs me when I'm supposed to be avoiding him. Now I have to weigh my options I could tell him I'm busy, I could actually listen and help him out, or I could do the most cruel option and use my vision to freeze him and make my escape. It didn't take me long to decide that the last option was off the table, not only would it be shitty to do but I would also feel really bad for doing it. The first option was pretty appealing seeing as I didn't feel like getting lectured by my parents for breaking their rules, but ultimately I chose the second option mainly because I was tired of doing this Y/N must hide from Bennett thing my parents orchestrated.

"What is it?" I asked

"Could you please go on an adventure with me I want to explore this domain but I need someone strong to come with me," Bennett explains

"You're pretty strong why do you need me?" I ask

"Because not only are you stronger than me you're also super smart you can help me solve puzzles and find really good treasure, please please please help me out Y/N" Bennett begged

"Fine I'll do it just stop begging so loud," I say

"Yes! No one's joined me on an adventure in ages c'mon let's go!" Bennett said as he grabbed my arm and dragged me to our destination.

Now at first the walk there was fine there were a few slimes here and there but nothing that we couldn't handle, eventually though the problems started to increase hillichurls and whopperflowers started popping up out of nowhere, we fell down a few cliffs, and eventually, it started to storm Bennett and I were completely soaked and freezing.

"Y/N let's take shelter in that cave!" Bennett said pointing over to a nearby cave.

"Alright," I say as we both run into the cave, effectively escaping the rain

"Damn I didn't know it was supposed to rain today," I say

"It wasn't, this is all my fault my bad luck screwed up the weather," Bennett said

"Hey it's ok it's not like you can control it plus we found somewhere that we can stay until the rain passes once it does we can leave and find that domain," I say, trying to stay optimistic for his sake
