Vengeance left a bittersweet taste on whoever succeeded. For the one who failed, only the bitter remained.

Asajj Ventress, despite her best efforts, despite training two of her sisters and preparing them to exact her revenge, was left with nothing but the bitter tinge on her tongue. Her traitor of a master, Count Dooku, effortlessly foiled her assassination attempt.

Now, a new plan had been set in motion, more covert in its nature, through a Zabrak who'd taken her place under Dooku's wing. However, his uninhibited anger and lack of discipline made him fall under the Jedi's radar. The Council convened and sent two of their finest Jedi Knights to the Zabrak homeworld...

A masked and hooded figure stood by the trees for height and cover. Her ice-cold hues were sharp and keen as they watched from a safe distance a ship that just landed. She sensed a familiar presence looming close, and as the passengers boarded out, she realized why.

"Of course, the Jedi send those two idiots," Ventress muttered to herself with a scowl. She sighed, "Very well. Sisters!" she beckoned aloud for the Nightsisters that came with her. "Let's give our guests a /warm/ welcome." She took off her mask, revealing a devious smirk.

Anakin and Obi-Wan began to walk through the crimson-lit forest. Both were wary of their surroundings. Dathomir's innate lean to the Dark Side caused a powerful magnetic force that came with temptations and urges. Still, the two Jedi managed to keep their guard up and persisted forward, until Obi-Wan sensed nearby life forms drawing close.

"Hold on," he halted his steps and instinctively raised an arm to stop Anakin as well. "Someone's coming."

Skywalker sensed it too, but he brushed it off with a snide remark. "You know I can take care of myself, right?"

As if on cue, the Nightsisters dropped down from the treetops and emerged from the shadows. Their energy bows were raised and aimed at the uninvited guests, surrounding them. The low hum of the weapons was the only sound as a hooded figure revealed herself and stood with pride.

Obi-Wan was the first to speak. "Ventress. What a lovely surprise. And with such /pleasant/ companions." His words were met by silence and a narrowed glare.

But she wasn't the only one there. The Nightsister clan's leader was right behind her, her presence dark, calm, and ominous. "I've been expecting you, Master Jedi."

A low displeased grunt from Asajj quickly followed. "Take them inside," she instructed the sisters who kept their bows raised as they paved a way for the Jedi to pass through.
