PHOEBE AWOKE TO the muffled sound of laughter rising from the street below her. It had been three weeks since her dinner with the Governor, three weeks since her brother last spoke a full sentence to her ─ it was safe to say he wasn't pleased about her dinner arrangement with the elder.

She pulled herself up off the bed, letting out a yawn as she stretched her slender arms above her head. The thumping of a fist against her front door echoed through the small apartment, consequently startling her before she realized she had no reason to be on edge in Woodbury, she was safe.

She walked into the less than roomy living room, glancing around for her brother ─ who'd left before she awoke every day for the past few weeks. A saddened sigh escaped her lips as she trudged over to the door. Swinging it open she came face to face with a grinning Everest, two cold sodas in hand.

"Rise and shine, lazy! It's party day!" His voice was full of cheer as he shoved one of the bottles into her chest, forcing her to grab it. She looked up at the boy with dead eyes, taking the drink in her hand and turning her back to him, "Well I guess somebody isn't a morning person." His tone was playful as he cautiously entered the doorway, not wanting to intrude on her.

Phoebe looked back, her eyes meeting with an awkwardly posed Everest she squinted her eyes, staring at him for a moment. "Don't be weird. Come in." She pushed the door to her bedroom open and turned to look at the boy once more, "I'm gonna go change, don't don't be weird." She repeated again before closing her door behind her.

The festival was a first for Woodbury, it wasn't often you saw everyone gathered in the streets not doing some type of job ─ whether it was gardening, tending to the chickens, or watching for biters or possible live threats on top of the walls. It was a nice change, a way for everyone to relax and just enjoy themselves.
