"Maree! Wake up!" I heard Trinna's voice shouting and her shaking me vigorously.
I blinked and rubbed my eyes. I stepped out of the car and coming face-to-face with a very large cabin.t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRb7P3Ejbr35gEsBv3JeBjSwB-M...I looked up at it in awe. I've never seen a beautiful log cabin ever! It looked to be three stories high with what looked like oak logs. It looked like a giant person was building with Lincoln logs. There were big windows, little ,and medium sized windows. Brown shutters, and it looked homey. Peaceful.
"Come inside Maree!" Laney called. I shook my head back to reality, and walked up the pebbled path and onto the wooden porch, which creaked at my every step and finally inside.
The inside was just as beautiful as the outside.t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQeMd5870RqV_4TfR5ip1_rSmU9...It looked cozy, it looked like my place to stay and chill, read some. But then the question occurred in my head. Whose cabin was this? As if reading my mind, Laney came up behind me and asked. "Remember my Aunt Amy? I told you about her awesome apartment, but you haven't met her?"
I nodded. "Whelp! This is her awesome cabin in Dayton!" Laney said excitedly. See we live in Ohio, so Dayton isn't that far of a drive. Maybe a couple hours or so.
"That's cool." I said. Then Laney frowned.
"Maree? Why the hell are you so glum? You're away from your parents-soon to be for good-and you're not even happy. I remember when you used to be so cheery, funny, and sarcastic. You won't even go to your closet, with the clothes that you used to wear. What happened?" She asked. I just shook my head. I didn't even know. All the of the things she just said were true. I won't go near my closet anymore because the clothes that are burdening it are so colorful and happy. But I don't feel happy anymore. I feel sad and like I always feel like I'm going to cry. Maybe I snapped, and just stopped making everything seem like it's okay when it wasn't at all.
"I don't know." I said shrugging and shaking my head.
Laney just let out a sigh and grabbed my arm. She lead my up some stairs, down a hall, and into a bedroom. It looked like a master bedroom too.
"This is your room." She said. I nodded.
"Laney? how long are we staying here?" I asked.
"Three weeks!" She said excitedly.
I gaped open my mouth. I don't even have clothes, my makeup, and hair stuff!
"Laney!" I exclaimed punching her in the arm.
"What!?" She asked in the same tone as me, rubbing her arm.
"Why didn't you tell me I had to pack?" I asked.
"Uh, do you not remember how your parents are? They would've gone through your stuff for one. And two, I knew you would've packed up a bunch of sweats and stuff. and books. Making sure you don't have fun." She explained, "Trinna and I came here last night with our stuff, dropped them off then came back to get you." She added.
I nodded and drooped my head.
"I'm going to take a shower now." I told Laney.
She nodded then smiled broadly. I examined her face, I knew that face too. It was her 'I-just-remembered-something-awesome!' face.
"Okay! When you're done come downstairs, because we're going to have some fun! So don't put your jammies on yet. Okay?" She said, bouncing on her toes.
I shook my head at her and headed to the bathroom.
