Ethan listened as the phone rang while Terra and Cole looked on.
"Hey bro, how are you?" Lizzie answered.
"Fine. Listen, I have Terra and Cole with me, I'm going to put you on speakerphone, alright?"
"Sure. Hey Terra, hey Cole. Is everything okay?"
"Yes and no," Ethan said as he laid his cell down on the table.
"Hi, Lizzie," Terra said loudly and Cole chimed in with the same.
Ethan asked, "Have you had any trouble lately or had anyone follow you?"
"No," Lizzie said cautiously. "Why?"
"Good. Because there's been a couple of incidents out here you should know about. Madison sent Cole a text and asked him to meet her in New York--"
Lizzie's sharp inhale filled the kitchen. "Is she okay?"
"Yes. But something is going on. Both Cole and Benjamin ran into vampires recently. One even tried to kill Ben."
"Oh God, is he alright?"
"Yes. Madison was there and vaporized the assassin before he could take him out." Ethan continued to fill Lizzie in with the story until she was caught up to date with the information.
"Look, there's another reason I'm calling. We think Madison might be in trouble and need our help. We have to find her now. Can you hack into the airport cameras in D.C.--"
"And New York," Cole interrupted. "She met me in New York, then went on to D.C. Maybe we should start there. Check the international terminals. I think she may have come from Europe."
Ethan looked at Cole. "What makes you say that?"
Cole knew his answer would piss Ethan off and tried to figure out how to say it in a way that would least offend his friend. He didn't want to admit he had put his high-powered sight to good use as Madison walked away from him and checked out her ass. "Um, she wasn't wearing American jeans."
Terra asked, "How do you know that?"
"Let's just say I noticed, okay?"
Ethan shook his head understanding exactly what Cole was implying. "Lizzie, do as Cole suggested," he said with a sigh.
"Look at the flights that came in on Friday. I have a feeling it was a quick in and out for her. When did she see Benjamin, Ethan?"
"Yesterday."
"Check for flights going out in the last 24 hours. Damn, I might've just missed her at the airport." Cole frowned.
"Okay, I'll do that," Lizzie said.
"We'll start running down leads on our end too. Be careful Little Sister."
"Same to you, bro."
The four said their good byes and Ethan disconnected the phone.

The glass sliced through Erdo's white linen shirt into his chest. Too short and too thin, the delicate length of crystal shattered in the Queen's hand before it could do much damage. She stepped back from him and watched the small, bloodred circle grow on his immaculate French-collared Zenga. Her hand dripped blood having taken the brunt of the impact and suffered multiple lacerations. It hadn't been a good idea, but seeing the fear in his eyes had been worth it.
Erdo wore a smug smile. "Honestly Madison, I would have thought your aim was better than that. You were an inch off-center. Should I be considering a new tactical instructor for you?"
