He was more excited than anything else. He'd been dreaming of doing this for years and now he finally had the chance he was taking it with all the force he had. His cheerful energy and warming smile just tipped the edge for your parents to accept his proposal. Especially when realising you were silently wishing they'd say yes - shown by your adorable lip biting and wide, hopeful eyes.

He was expecting the worst as your parents had told him multiple times he had a bad influence on you and that he was a trouble maker. However, things took a turn for the better and they gave a very positive yes, while apologising for the negative things they've said as it was only a minor fraction of who he was.

He was overly calm for someone that'd only known you for a matter of months. However, in those few months you had grown attached to each other and most definitely wanted things to go further. Your parents were very precise with what they wanted your husband to be like, so it was a huge relief when they agreed he was okay and ticked almost all the boxes.

He looked a lot calmer than he was feeling. And this was shown the second he went to speak. Speech came out stuttered and fast, tripping on words he never thought would be possible to mess up. Despite the amount mistakes he made and the times he had to apologies because some words come out rude when mispronounced, your parents were very happy to let you two get on.
