Chapter 29: The Rare Flower

=== Dipper's POV ===

Everything's going okay . 

Ruff, Tuff and Mabel got the teeth and tools .

Snotlout and I got the milk .

But Hiccup , Astrid , and Fishlegs is still not back yet .

We can start building the machine ,though . I think I know how it works.

I told them what to do and how to build it , but they didn't need much telling on how to build it , They're vikings.

And with the help of dragons , we would be faster .

I wonder what's going on with Hiccup and others,though.

=== Astrid's POV ===

"What exactly are we looking for here?" I asked. We've been looking for hours , and still we can't find one,whatever it is.

"A rare flower" Hiccup answered.

"Yes, I know that but what flower? Do we even have one?"

"We must have . "

"Fine, but if we aren't back at night, we'll search tomorrow for more daylight. Plus,we can help build the machine later and we'll get more help tomorrow."

"Sounds good" They both answered.

Hours passed aand we still haven't found a rare flower. We've been at the forest, cove, cave, here , there , we've been everywhere!

Still, no 'rare' flower.

It's not like we didn't find any flower , but it isn't as rare .

It's almost sunset, so we're losing daylight.

"According to the "Book of the Undiscovered"

we should have found atleast 4 rare flowers by now , because 63% of this island has not been explored yet" Fishlwgs said.

"Yes , but how many have we found ?"

He sighed "None"

"Maybe we shouldn't base on books--"

"Sshh! Guys!" Hiccup whispered. I look at him, and his index finger is in his mouth , gesturing we should be quiet.

And so we did.

Hiccup was looking at something. I followed  his gaze , but I couldn't see anything from up here. So, I gestured to Stormfly to get near where Hiccup was , quietly.

"Hiccup. What is it" I whispered to him. Fishlegs also told Meatlug to get here, so we're

all looking at where Hiccup is looking.

But there's nothing .

Still , Hiccup is looking at something. I don't know why we couldn't see it.

Then , Hiccup moved his hand. Pointing at the sky. He's trying to tell us that we should fly there , but quietly.

And so we did.

Once we got higher,  I asked Hiccup is it safe to talk now.

"Look there. " He pointed at what he was, and what we thought we were, looking at earlier.

At first , I couldn't see anything , and then I saw movement of  a leaf .

Maybe it was just the wind.

But it wasn't.

"A Changeling" Fishlegs finally said.

"Yes , but that's not all."

"Then what is to see more?" I asked, confused.

"He's protecting something"

"Protecting what?" Fishlegs and I said in unision.

But we got nothing. No answer from Hiccup. He's just staring at it again. So we just stare at it again,too. Hoping that it would answer our question.

And it did.

Fishlegs and I both gasped at what we saw .

It was a plant. No, I don't think plant is the best word. It was a flower.

A flower unlike anything I've seen. A flower that can't be seen anywhere but here and who-knows-where .

It was a rare flower.

Right there, behind the Changeling. A beautiful yellow-and-red flower. It's the perfect rare flower.

And we need it.

But why is the Changeling protecting it?

"We need to get it."

"But how? We all saw that there is one Changeling there , maybe even more" Fishlegs said.

"I don't know , but we need it"

"No" Hiccup said.

"What? Why?" I was shocked. No ? But he himself knows that we need it.

===Hiccup's POV===

"No" I said again.

"Hiccup?"

"I said no"

"But, Hiccup. We need it. I think you're not noticing, but we searched all day to find a rare flower, and now that we've got one, we're just gonna ignore it?"

"Astrid, there's a Changeling  guarding that flower and we don't know why. Do you really think it's worth the risk?"

"We can lure it ove here, so we can see the Changeling and while the the two distract it, one will get the flower,and we'll get out of here."

"And then what will happen after? What will happen if he realize that the flower he was protecting is now gone?"

'Uh guys?--" I ignored Fishlegs and continue -

"He will be outraged and then he will attack the village all because of a little flower"

"But where else could we find a rare flower?"

"Guys, I really think this is important..."

"We'll look harder--"

"ASTRID HOFFERSON AND HICCUP HORRENDOUS HADDOCK III !"

"What?!" Astrid and I both turned to Fishlegs

He pointed at where the Changeling was, or where he was supposed to be, because he's gone.

And not the camouflage gone , I mean gone gone.

How did we know? Because we can see clearly the flower.The one he was suppose to protect. The one he doesn't want anybody to see.

Because he's right behind us.

Hey! So I apologize for taking a very,very,very long time to update :( Honestly, I've beem really busy with school (we started school 4-5 weeks ago here) and nothing's coming up to me until today :(

I'm planning to end the story soon , any thoughts?
