It's a rather hot day in Fezium. Ray was looking around the town hall and noticed an auction. The bets went from 20 to 200 dollars just for a flower printed vase. Ray didn't get why people would even give there money for such a stupid item.
His mother, a young woman with short black hair, thought otherwise. She was gently holding Ray's small hand and had also noticed the vase. "Oh what I would give to have that nice vase." "Hmph I guess," Ray let out an unsure answer.
"So, do you need anything from the shops?" Ray looked down and kicked a small gray rock with his shoe. "No not really, I just wanted to spend some time with you." Alice let out a small giggle putting her hand in front of her face." Then you wouldn't mind if we went to my friend's house instead?" Ray stopped to look at his mom, "You know my answer-"
-ding dong-
Ray was now standing in front of a big house. His mom was smiling and the warm expression on her face gave Ray courage. A lively woman opened the door. "OH HELLO, ALICE!" she clapped her hands together while greeting Ray and his mother.
"Ray's grown so much since I last saw him. I remember when he was just a baby he was such a nice and delicate boy, played on his own and didn't even cry once." Ray blushed a little with the received compliments and continued to enter the house.
"Manisha! We have guests!" A girl who seemed quite the same age as Ray was now standing on the stairs and made her way down.
Manisha didn't hesitate to grab Ray's hand and run up the stairs. While being dragged up stairs Ray caught a quick glance of his mother and her friend laughing.

Ray woke up to hearing the school bell letting students know it's time for lunch. He opened his eyes to see Manisha waving goodbye to her friends and turned around to face Ray.
He wasn't surprised, they usually spent lunch time together. Ray put his stuff together and Manisha walked over to the desk behind Ray where their friend Noshini was still asleep.
Ray had finished putting his things together and he was ready to leave this classroom that made him tired to the point where he was dreaming of memories.
He and Manisha were now both looking at Noshini. "He seems very relaxed, must be a good dream," Ray said, laughing a bit. Manisha wasn't dealing with this again and just pushed Noshini's stuff off the table.
" If you're ever going to ask for test answers, I will tell on you." After that Noshini was awakened in a heartbeat, "Sheesh you never told me not to sleep in class, so why can't I?" He looked well rested and didn't question Manisha's actions.
All three of them went to have lunch at a café near their school that was of course Ray's suggestion. Cafeteria is usually crowded and noisy so they decided on that.
On their way there they heard someone shouting, "Hey! Noshini we were just talking about you." Just by looking at them, they seemed to be from the volleyball team that Noshini attends. He went over to chat with them, telling Ray and Manisha to wait for him.
"So do you know who any of them are?'' Ray asked, not actually caring about their existence. "Not sure are you interested in them? I know the guy who has blond hair and dark orange eyes, he's their volleyball team captain, I think his name is Aran." Ray took another look at them and wasn't really surprised about how tall they were but he said it anyway, "You know they're all pretty tall, too bad for my height."
One of the taller ones whose name was supposed to be Aran gave Noshini a pat on the head and told him to take care laughing at the joke one of them had said. Noshini was also saying his goodbyes, "Same for you, don't get hit by a train," and so they went their own way and Noshini came back to his friends who were waiting for him, screaming, "You guys may not know them but they're my friends." He said it proudly like Ray or Manisha would like to be friends with the tall guys.
They had finally arrived at the small cafe on the side of their school. All ordering something from the caffe, "I'm not that hungry so I'll get a salad, what about you guys?" Noshini was the first to spill what he wanted, "I WILL HAVE A... umm chicken and sweet potatoes, yes just that." Ray being a bit more calm just said, "Pasta".
All of them were enjoying their food and each other's company. "So are you guys looking forward to the theater play we are going to this week. Noshini, you remembered we have the theater play? You're making progress in listening and remembering good job." Manisha told him with pure surprise.
"To be honest I'm looking forward to it." Ray looked up from his food to face Noshini while continuing his sentence, "I just hope no one will be noisy during the play." Noshini felt a little hurt by Ray's comment. In the end they all agreed that the play can be really fun when you enjoy the storyline.
They decided to start heading back after Manisha remembered she had to talk to one of her teachers. "Hey guys, I have to see mr. Fint with an olympiad I promised. I'll go to, so it be a great time to head back."
"Sure! I'm all finished with my food anyway," Noshini replied getting his bag, "So it will be me and Noshini for this lunch, that's kind of sad." Manisha knew it was a joke and laughed it off Noshini, who didn't understand the sarcasm, started talking about how it won't be sad in any terms.
"NO Ray, I promise we will not do anything you regret; not like you usually agree to do anything you'd regret." They walked back to school with about 20 min left for the next class. Manisha started running to Mr. Fint's office and waved a goodbye to the boys,"Promise I'll see you guys in front of class before the clock goes off!"
"So Noshini, do you have anything you want to do in the meantime?" "Not really, you know I remember when I met you seemed so weird and odd." Noshini just looked at Ray when he finished his sentence. Ray was a bit delighted but also didn't know if that was an insult.
"Um, so I don't really know what you meant but thanks anyway." "Oh yes, you're very welcome. Now let's go to the gym. I'll take my stuff I left there yesterday and then we can see how much time we have." "Sure, why did you leave your stuff there?" "On purpose I needed to, anyway let's just go otherwise Manisha will blame me for us being late."
Noshini started walking to the gym. Ray followed him thinking either way it would be Noshini's fault if they were late. "So how are your grades Ray? I bet I've become smarter." "Well Noshini I didn't think you thought so bad of me, my grades are actually quite good." For one Ray wasn't a bad student actually he was a little better than decent but that only when he studied.
"Go get your stuff, we don't have too much time." Ray wasn't really up to going in the gym with him; he knew Noshini had many friends who he didn't want to be introduced to. "Okay I'll get my stuff you wait here! Be right back, don't get into trouble!" Noshini said while running to get his stuff. Ray was now alone waiting for Noshini when someone came through the gym's front door.
Ray didn't bother to turn around, he knew it wasn't Manisha. "Hey aren't you that friend of Noshini's, I saw you earlier with him." Ray just hoped that Noshini would come so he won't have to make a new friend. He was quite awkward when talking to new people.
"Yeah, your name is Aran. Am I right? Nice to meet you." Ray wasn't really interested in Aran, all he had to know about him was that he was friends with Noshini. "So what's your name? It's always nice to meet a friend of Noshini's." Aran smiled at Ray but it didn't feel like an honest smile more like Aran was acting nice.
"I'm Ray but I'm sure we will never talk again so it doesn't really matter." For Ray's sake he saw Noshini coming their way so they could get going. "So Ray, what are you doing here? Haven't really seen you around the gym before."
Ray didn't feel like he needed to answer but told him anyway, "I'm just here, so Noshini could get his stuff." "GUYS! Are you getting along? I didn't know you guys knew each other?" Noshini just saved this awkward one-sided conversation so Ray was even kind of thankful.
"Oh we were just getting to know each other, but enough talk I have to get going. It's always nice to see you Noshini and glad I got to meet you Ray." Aran walked off. Noshini just looked at Ray all happy. "He is a nice guy, you guys would get along great. Now we have to go Ray! Manisha does not take being late for an answer, trust me I know."
"Sure maybe we would even get along but for now let's go." And so on they went to meet up with Manisha.
