"Yes, this is why we're at the palace. It will all be explained in a moment. Just follow me would you." Cynda started walking into the palace and Ray had to make a few quicker steps to catch up.
"Sooo, what's all this about?" Cynda just kept walking. Ray looked around, everything was very fancy but at the same time odd.
Ray was about to ask Cynda another question but was a bit late, Cynda opened a big door to around 20 people standing in the room. They all looked like normal humans with no wings, scales, tails or other mysterious extra parts.
"What is this?" "Just be patient, everything will be explained in a moment." Cynda walked in the room and Ray was right behind her. "I'll be right back, don't get into trouble alright?" Ray nodded to Cynda and Cynda went back the way they had come into this room.
Ray was left alone now. He made a few steps forward, it seemed to be like some people were scared and some had already made friends others were standing quietly.
Some minutes had passed and two new people entered the room. The door closed and the room turned a bit darker.
Someone walked in the room and went to stand on the podium. She had bird legs and a peacock's tail was dragging behind her, she had fancy jewelry and seemed to be some kind of queen or leader. She cleared her throat and started talking
"Welcome all to Yosei! You people are probably wondering why you've been brought here, well this isn't an unusual place as you've already seen. Your mission here is to find a live stone as we call them. When held by a timer a live stone can and will bring you back to your reality. Unfortunately you are late timers which means you came here later than those humans before you. We usually prepared as many live stones as we could find so you all could get back home."
She looked around the room like searching for someone watching everyone secretly and carefully. Her eyes were now on Ray, he didn't know what to do and just kept listening to the explanation.
"But for the late timers... we do not have any more live stones for you." The room started to fill with anxiousness. "Please don't get worried there are still some live stones left in Yosei, we will get you better instructions on where you have to go. But please do remember live stones are limited and last but not the least my name is Saina and I'm the queen of this side of Yosei."
People looked around and everyone felt a bit more relieved. The room's lights turned back on. Saina said goodbye and left the room in a hurry.
Ray and the other people were given a bag filled with things they might need like a map to where live stones are and some food to go with it. Everyone was leaving the palace one by one, Ray still felt confused and didn't know why he was there because the queen had to make the speech very short.
Ray was now also leaving the palace; he tried looking for Cynda but couldn't find her anywhere. So the best idea he had was to just go and try to find a live stone.
He set his way towards a mountain where the live stones were supposed to be. Ray was walking alone on a path he found on the map.
"Hopefully I'll find the stone quickly and get out of here. I wonder what it's like at home right now. Has the time kept going? I bet dad is worried. And what are the numbers on my wrist? There's so many things I still don't know!"
Ray let out a big sigh thinking over what's been happening. Everything felt very new to him. "Now I have to find the live stones, that's my number one objective."
"Good luck with that!" Ray was stunned to hear a voice he didnt recognize. He quickly lifted his head up to see someone sitting under a tree.
"Well.. thank you, might I ask who you are?" "I believe it won't make much of a difference whether you know me or not but my name is Cedric."
Everything went quiet for a moment and Cedric was just standing and both of them stared at each other. "Sooo what's your name?" "Oh I'm Ray nice to meet you Cedric so are you also a timer or are you one of those human something?"
Cedric didn't quite get what Ray was talking about but tried to understand him "You came from the palace?"
"Yes, I don't know any other places here, well I mean they gave me a map where the live stones are, so I do know some places I guess." Cedric walked closer to Ray do see the map he was holding, "You do know that the palace isn't really telling you everything they know, right."
This new information that the stranger was giving Ray was very odd and Ray didn't want to believe it. Why would they lie to him? Why would they lie to everyone?
Ray wasn't the only person making his way to find live stones, maybe they gave him a different map but why would they do that? So many questions appeared in his mind "How do you know?..Why would they even lie?"
"Why? They don't want you to get the live stones and when you don't get them you have no other choice but to start doing what they say. It's really not that hard to understand."
"Then what should I do?" Cedric started walking off and looked back at Ray "You can come with me? If you want to, of course I'm going to a place where they keep the live stones hidden from me and some other people will try stealing some of them and bring them back to people like you who need them."
Ray smiled and went along with the new friends he had made.
