I felt like putting myself to sleep at some point.
To end the light I carried inside, but then I remembered you.
The laugh, the smile, the friendship we carry.
How rare and beautiful it is what I have found, how much I didn't realize I needed you.
You are a symphony to me, a chorus of angels singing day and night.
The aurora in the night sky.
I want to keep staying awake, even in the night, so that I can see you.
You are a light in my life that I needed the most, you opened my heart a little.
You made me excited to wake up, you bring a smile upon my face.
I waited so many years for someone to hear me, to hear my screams of help.
You finally walked in, holding your arms out to me.
You are my family, part of my reason to keep living, you make me want to protect you.
And I hope, that I make you feel the same way.
Thank you isn't enough for what you have done,
but for now it's the best I can do.
So thank you, thank you for being here.
