In front of him was a tall, real
Wolf.Fear filled the little bird's body, clearly afraid of the wolf. The wolf snarled a sentence
"Pack like bird. I like eat."The robin, Tuk. Didn't know any wolf. But he assumed it wasn't good.
"Eat. No."
He chirped, hoping the wolf knew a bit of robin.
"Don't understand."The robin could tell by the confusion in the wolf's voice that it clearly didn't understand. Tuk spread his wings and began to fly.
Another wolf, slightly lighter then the first reached on its hind paws and knocked Tuk on the ground. Tuk exclaimed in surprised.
"Look a meal.." The first wolf announced in wolf and three more wolves, including the one that knocked him over stepped forward.
"We eat bird?"
One wolf asked and the first swished it's tail as if to say yes.
"But so small!" Another wolf exclaimed.Tuk looked up at them, not wanting to move from his place on the ground. He had learned that from the Opossums. He questioned them at first but realized their genius ideas just now. He didn't know wolf anyways, so it's not like he understood what they were saying.
"We eat. We no eat. nothing for while." The third wolf barked.
The wolf who knocked him over lifted him in her jaws and walked towards the others. Tuk was so afraid, he didn't want to be eaten.
The wolves then seemed to have a speech before they ate him. He didn't like this.
"For nothing eat. We eat!"
"Nothing for ages. Magic bird."
"Bird small!"
"Better then nothing."Suddenly, in the distance, a raven cawed.
"Raven!" The first wolf barked in excitement, it's tail wagging with delight.
A Raven flew into the cave.
"Found deer! Deer! Catch it! We can eat!" The Raven chirped.
"Deer much better!"
"Bird too small!"The wolf holding Tuk dropped him and the pack ran outside of the cave, the Raven stayed behind a bit.
"Bird helps bird, right?" The Raven cawed before looking over at the robin.
"Wolf. Deer. Distracted. Go." The Raven chirped in robin, the Robin wasn't completly correct but the robin understood the ravens words.
"Thank." Tuk responded.
The Raven agreed with a caw before flying out of the cave. The robin looked outside seeing that it was already in the morning. The robin was about to spread his wings to search for a new home when he heard a chirp in the distance.
The same robin that he had seen yesterday flew down to the ground close to him.
"Wolf. Attack?" The robin asked, sounding afraid.
"No. Deer."
"Safe?"
"Yes."
"Name?"
"Tuk. Name?"
"Chirr."
"Safe. Us?"
"Safe. Together."Tuk now had a travelling companion, he wasn't expecting this to happen so easily but he decided to explain his story to Chirr.
"Orange-Raven. Take."
"Mine. Yes."Tuk looked surprised, it turned out that Chirr was searching for a new home as well. The Orange-Raven was quite destructive.
"Home. Search?"
"Together."This, this was now the beginning of their journey to look for a home. The two of them spread their wings and took to the sky. They didn't have to say it, but it was clear that this wasn't a good place. There was so many wolves and other predators. He wanted a place he was safe, he was sure Chirr felt the same.
The two of them flew above the trees, he felt safe - now that he had someone to travel with.
He figured they'd have to leave this forest too. He didn't know long that would take, Chirr seemed to know this Forest more then he did. He let her fly ahead, leading them to wherever they were going.
"Where. Go?"
"Out. Forest."
"Where. That?"
"Few. Tree-Lengths.""Tree-Lengths" was the Robin equivalent of Kilometres. So it wasn't that far from here, still a long way to fly.
"Berries!" Tuk chirped, seeing a raspberry bush below. Tuk swooped to the ground and Chirr followed, Chirr was probably hungry as well.Tuk hopped towards the Berry bush and ate a few raspberries, before looking over at Chirr to follow. She hopped, oddly - kind of slow? It looked different then Tuk's hop. She kept hopping towards the bush.
Once she arrived she ate a few berries off of the bush.
"Slow. Why?" Tuk asked.
"No. Matter." Chirr responded before taking to the sky again, clearly a topic Chirr didn't want to mention.
"Wait!" Tuk chirped, taking to the sky and soon catching up to Chirr. She was a very fast flier.Tuk continued to fly forward, after Chirr. He saw the edge of the forest - but on the other side he saw a very rocky area that stretched forward for a long while. This confused him. He looked over at Chirr - she seemed to know where she was going.
Tuk didn't understand. He wanted a place with lots of food and a tree to stay. He was about to ask Chirr why they were going here - But Chirr swooped down and landed at the edge of the forest and the start of the rocky area.
"Never. Been." Chirr chirped, explaining that she hadn't ever been here.
"Only. Heard." So she had heard other things tell the directions of how to leave, but she hadn't been.Tuk was at least happy that they had made it out of the forest - He sensed that Chirr was probably just as confused as he was about this new area.
"Travel. Through?" He asked, he didn't have any better ideas.
"Good. Idea." Chirr chirped, he had a feeling something better was definitely on the other side. He never would have guessed how hard it would be to find a home to go to.He looked over at Chirr, ready to travel through the rocky area. It was time. This was a slow start to their journey. But they didn't know what was going to come next. Would they even ever complete their journey?
