I'm Maya and this is a story about me and my best friend Riley. It all started when we were little. My parents were always arguing and I often ran away from home.
One day I came across a bedroom window in which I heard a little girl singing. Her room was filled with cosy pillows, blankets and loads of cool toys.
I decided to check it out and crawled through her bedroom window. Thats when I met Riley. Ever since that day we've been best friends. Riley is the biggest goofball I know and is most definitely a lot of work. Though I wouldn't want to have it any other way. Her family became like my second family and at some point I even got a new dad, one who stayed.
We've been through so much already and now a new chapter has come: college. Who'd ever thought I'd actually make it this far. I know I didn't.
Now not only our schools are changing but also my feelings. Riley and I have always been so close and I've always loved her so much. Recently I've started to figure out how exactly I love her and the outcome is not easy..
