As I let my body drift into a deep sleep my mind began to wonder what life would be like if I was never a vampire. Would I still be the same mentally? Or would my whole mind-set be different?

"Oliver it is time to get up, your throne awaits." A faint soft voice said as it awoke me. My body was warm with mortal blood racing through my veins, my nose only picking up the scent of vanilla that lingered in the air, and there was no annoying sound of the thump of a normal human heart beat. My eyes fluttered open onto a beautiful sight. I was back home in Egypt being surrounded by the limestone wall of my ancient palace of a home.

I jumped to my feet in excitement I was human again my body filled with the blood of a mortal, my throat not burning with the thirst of human blood. "It is good to see your excited my Oliver." I turned around to see my mother standing beside my bed. Her long black hair pulled up into the traditional gold crown the queen usually wore. Without a seconds hesitation I pulled her into a tight hug squeezing her a little too tight for she let out a small gasp.

"Momma, I missed your dearly!" I stepped back out of the hug with a smile plastered across my face. She was beautiful her brown eyes, olive skin just everything about her was just as I remembered. I ran over to the mirror that hung on the far wall looking deep into my brown... BROWN EYES! I can't actually believe that I'm human again! My eyes flicked back between mine and my mothers reflection I can't believe how much I look like her.

"I missed you too hunny, but its only been a few hours sinced we lasted talked." She said with a smile. Quickly I turned on my heal and shot out of my room, at a thankfully normal human speed. I let my eyes wander the corridors of this magnificent palace. Hieroglyphics adorned the stone walls, paintings of my father, mother and I hung in almost every corner. Plants placed neatly in pots hung from the ceiling. Tables made of hard stone cluttered with plans and other important papers my father left behind for me and my mother.

This place was my home, my only home. I couldn't believe I was actually back where I belong. Suddenly I stopped my mind beginning to flood with the thoughts of Cayla and Kira. I would never meet Cayla and Kira would never become apart of this world. I began to feel sad, but also happy. Since Cayla's never going to meet me she won't have to worry about anything mythical that might or will hurt her. She was better off never meeting me.

"Oliver what would you like to eat?" A gruff voice asked breaking my train of thought. I looked around and noticed I was in the staff room of the palace, a stone fireplace and a few stone counter tops. "Oliver?" The man asked again.

"Nothing, I'm not hungry." I replied. I exited the room through the stone door, which led me into the outside. The warm air collide with my face felt wonderful, the faint scent of the Nile river filled the air. "Oh how I missed you." I whisperer. The sight was beautiful, the palm trees that made home around the palace, the faint sight of the Nile river in the far distance,  my father's tomb in the distance, and mine being prepared next to his. I couldn't believe that I would ever forget something like this. My eyes wander upon the beauty that my ancient culture held.

"Oliver?" A voice asked from behind. I turned swiftly on my heals, my eyes landing on a blonde figure. "Oliver what's gotten into you? You seem to be acting like you've been away for a while." She chuckled. She was tall, with naturally blonde hair, which was really rare, nice petite figure and red eyes.

"Amber?" I somewhat asked.

"Yes my love?" she asked back.

"I umm... Just wanted to ask you if you were... Hungry." I quickly said.

"No, I ate a big breakfast." She then turned to the kitchen door I just came out of and made her way back into the palace. She stopped in the doorway and looked back at me over her shoulder, "Are you coming?"
