It aches so much. It hurts like growing pains when you suddenly hit puberty. It burns like a small tree still growing branches, stretching and twisting every which way. I want to cry like how a child wants their mother, who sobs into their mom's open arms. My knees give in as I fall to the forest floor yearning to remember, yearning to know what that felt like. They say what you fear most will find its way to you, but in that moment the one thing I was the least afraid of came to me. As I sat there forgetting and terrified a woman with ebony colored wings embraced me as if I were her own child. I never knew this woman ,but all I knew in this moment is that it felt like I knew her for an eternity already.
