Here's a quick one. So basically, around middle school time or summer of 8th grade leading into 9th. I had this massive crush on this girl who just so happened to be my best friend. Long story short, I got rejected. I have to admit I had a lot of pity for myself and acted like a complete jerk. My train of thought was, "I shouldn't have been rejected. I put so much work to make her feel better". This is a disgusting mindset, and if you have that, shame on you. Side note, the movie Megamind shows how wrong that mindset can be if taken to an extreme; give it a watch. Getting back to the story, though, it just so happened that I was eating Chinese food one night for dinner, and this was probably a week after I was rejected. So I went to open a fortune cookie, and the fortune said, I swear to god: "All that work for a broken heart." That was actually like a scene from a movie or book, I promise. I still think that's insane to this day.
