Andromeda, eventually, was happy that her daughter had decided on this career path. She was still nervous about though. She didn't want to admit it but she secretly thought that she wouldn't get in. She hoped she did but on the face that she was a girl . . . She had always hated how the ministry dispised of female Aurors. She never told anyone, not even Ted, but before she decided to become a Healer she had actually applied for Auror training but was turned down.

"Hey Nymphadora?" Andromeda called for her daughter.

"Yeah?" She called back from upstairs

"I was wondering if you would want to duel?" Andromeda called back.

"What?" Tonks asked descending the stairs towards her mother

"Duel. If you want to become an Auror you will want to learn how to duel well." Andromeda explained

"You know how to duel?" Tonks asked surprised

"Rude." Andromeda laughed "but yes, I am an excellent duelist! I was in the dueling club in my time at Hogwarts!"

"Oh, we'll see about that Andromeda Tonks." Tonks said while drawing her wand and following her mother towards the front yard.

"Nymphadora Vulpecula Tonks. Are you underestimating your own mother?" Andromeda asked in a mockup surprise voice.

"Mmmm, maybe I am!" Tonks laughed back. They stood ten feet apart in the front yard. They each got in their own dueling positions. Andromeda had one arm over her head ready to deflect while her left hand (strangely, her wand hand was her left hand) was holding her wand out infront of her. Tonks stood sideways with her right hand out ready to cast and her left arm back her elbow pointed out.

"Thats your dueling position? Come on girl! Give me a challenge!" Andromeda taunted. Before she was ready Tonks shot the first spell.

"You have to constantly aware, mum!" Tonks said while sending yet another curse at Andromeda. Andromeda finally got control of herself and became a worthy opponent. They dueled for, maybe, around twenty minutes.

"Allright! Okay, Nymphadora! Thats enough!" Andromeda said, panting with her effort.

"That was some incredible dueling from you both!" A new voice said, they turned and saw Rufus Scrimgeour standing there with a small briefcase and an even smaller smile, Andromeda was confused not knowing who he was but tonks, on the other hand, knew exactly who he was.

"Auror Scrimgeour!" Tonks said standing aside.

"Hello, you are Nymphadora Tonks I take it?" He asked walking up to her and outstretching his hand.

"Yes, sir, I am." Tonks said shaking hands with him.

"Good, very good. May we speak about the regards of your letter?" He asked.

"Oh, yes sir!" Tonks said happily as Andromeda lead the group into the house. "Ted!" Andromeda called for her husband.

Ted walked out, he had a tea kettle in his hand. He to, seemed to know whom Scrimgeour was.

"Auror Scrimgeour! Hello! Would you like anything to drink? I was just in the process of making some tea." Ted said shaking hands with Scrimgeour.

"Tea would be lovely, thank you, Mr. Tonks." Ted nodded and headed back to the kitchen followed by the group.

Within minutes they where all sitting around the table mixing tea.

"So, it is, to my understanding, you would like to become an Auror, Ms. Tonks?" Scrimgeour asked

"Yes, sir. It is. I would very much like to." Tonks agreed, when she wanted to be serious about situations she really could be. Her inner Black was showing.

"Well. . .might you tell me a little more of why you want to be an Auror?" He asked 0

"Well, like I briefly mentioned in my owl, because of my family. I have madmen for aunts and uncles, cousins and grandparents, so on and so forth. In my opinion, those people are bitches who ruin the wizzarding world. I want to help to make a world where people don't have to live in fear." Tonks explained leaning forward so her fuchsia colored hair trickled the top of the table.

"Completely understandable! I agree on so many levels with that statement. Your O.W.L's and N.W.E.T scores where very good, the head of house letter said nothing but good things, I've heard you are talented with a broom and as I saw a few moments ago you are dandy with a wand. I think you would make a good Auror but im still not quite sure." Scrimgeour said after taking a drink of his tea.

"I understand, sir. I know I would not make the ideal Auror, Merlin knows I'm not some Mad-eye Moody." Tonks laughed, her hair turned to a light lavender. Scrimgeours eyes grew wide.

"are you a metamorphomeagi?" He asked.

"Oh, yes. I forgot to mention that?"

"Indeed. That is a very rare gift! Excellent skill for being an Auror!" He paused and thought for a moment "I really do think you would be an extravagant Auror." He paused again "would you mind going to the Ministry with me right now for a training session to see how you would do?" He asked her.

"Really? Of course, sir!" Tonks said getting up and heading upstairs to grab her traveling cloak. Scrimgeour studied Andromeda for a moment.

"You look familiar. . ." He said.

"I bare a close resemblance to my sister, Bellatrix." She said coldly.

"No. . . Its other than that. . . .you applied for Auror training, years ago, hadn't you?"

". . . . Yes, I had, but I became a Healer instead, haveing a job like yours you've probably seen me at St. Mungos once or twice." Andromeda said.

Ted stared at her for a moment, he did know this, why would she keep something like this from her?

Tonks walked back into the room with her traveling cloak on.

"Good, good, well, let's be off." He said standing and leading them out.
