Florie booked it back to her hotel room, she couldn't comprehend what she had seen a few moments ago, it wasn't hard for her to tell that the woman could be a gem, her heart was racing. "Holy shit she's tall". It had been over 5,000 years since anyone had seen a gem, and any other account had been proven false. "Those reports don't end well".
She couldn't call in a gem just get. For all she knows, it could just be a weird Acrode. She could be executed for such a mistake. "What if it was a gem?" she murmured to herself in between gasps for breath. When she made it to the room she fumbled with the door handle, "god damn door" she hissed, getting the door open after some struggles. She spent a good few minutes steadying herself for what will come.
Florie knew that she needed to investigate further, but how? Her "uniform", as she called her limited wardrobe, would give her away. It was all she had to wear though, and she didn't feel like buying new clothes. But she had her jacket, Her brother had given it to her on one of the few times they met- wait, her jacket! The woman walked fast toward her suitcase and dug through the rest of her clothes, she pulled out her puffer jacket, the green material reeked of alcohol and smoke, but she loved it
As she pulled the jacket on, she knew she was going to regret this later, it was going to get hot as hell this summer, but it was the only chance she had. She waited about an hour or so, before leaving, but as her hand reached the doorknob, "Is this a good idea" she thought in a moment of hesitation.
"This is stupid. What am I going to do? Walk right up to her and ask her if she's a gem? That could finally get me killed! Stalk her? That ... well that ..." She stood there for a second thinking it over. "That could work" A plan quickly formed. She couldn't call this in but she hopefully didn't have to. She took off the jacket as she quickly made a call to the higher ups and people who owed her a few depts as she got her stuff ready to leave town.
She was going to be busy.
.
.
.
Took a month to set everything in order.
She was given a year off. Thankfully the whole never-ending war had come to a cold standstill a few years ago, if it hadn't, she wouldn't be allowed any time. Most were off doing their own thing and wasting time anyway, they wouldn't miss her.
She had found a quaint, small, one bedroom apartment. Big enough for the few things she has. She moved in as quickly as she could, having new pairs of clothes, a new name, and a new life story to match the seemingly innocent traveler look.
Scars hidden and story fully made. Florie, or as she has named herself for this small town of Beach City, Taka had put on a cute green cardigan, with some grey pants, and a white shirt and was ready to walk around the town.
The point of today's walk wasn't to find the stranger. That would take a while. She just needed to scout the city and get to know it like the back of her hand.
Easy enough.
The town was quaint upon closer inspection, not a lot to see through her walk. The homes where standard at best, their shops just as unamusing, the most interesting thing was its sort of known beaches and an amusement park named Funland. Alleyways and uncommon routes being memorized with ease by the trained professional, and by sunset she had seen them all.
"One place left to scout" She thought as she exited a nearby donut shop with a snack in hand. "This has to be the slowest day of my life".
The sun set in a beautiful orange bliss, calming the nerves on edge in Florie. There seemed to be nothing amiss about the place.
... ... ... ... ...
That is until she ran into a chain-link fence. A metal sign reading 'KEEP OFF BEACH' bolted right on it, a smaller wooden sign reading 'Please' in elegant cursive right below.
"Well shit, isn't this the epiphany of weird". Florie wasted no time scarfing down the donut at hand and climbing her way over the fence with ease. The walk was completely quiet aside from the sand below her feet, the sun having set leaving only a cold breeze and the still warm sand which led to a giant boulder.
Boulder?
No. A stone hand.
Hand?
"The hell?"
A cave.
A platform.
A Statue?
No. A temple. A gem temple! And that's not a platform, that's a warppad!
"Oh shit" the woman let out as she felt herself momentarily stop breathing as she choked on land from the shock. Amazement surged into her along with the much-needed oxygen, taking it all in for what it could mean. "Gems"
She was rudely cut off with a flashing light of the warp activating, signaling that someone was coming through. "ShitShitShitShitShitShitShitShitShitShitShitShitShitShitShitShitShitSHIT"
She quickly sped behind a massive boulder, just in time to hide from the newcomers. Most breath thieving of all, the woman from a month ago. Who stood with a lanky pale lady in leg warmers, and a rosey pink woman in a dress. On them, as clear as day, being their own gems. The lanky lady having one on her forehead, and the rosey woman had one of her naval.
"Holy shit! Gems!"
Florie waited no longer to make herself invisible and walk away as fast as she could without drawing any attention to herself.
"ShitShitShitShitShitShitShitShitShitShitShitShit SHIT-
