Stronger {Kiba Inuzuka Love Story} [2]

Kiba POV

I chuckle softly as I watch the two boys pet Akamaru. His tail thumps against the cave ground as they worship him.

I go back to skinning some of the fish I'd caught for dinner when one of the boys called my name.

His eyes shocked me back when we first met and they do again just now. The same blue hues as my Sayuris eyes, spot on, fleck for fleck.

"Why is he so big?" The boy, Akashi asks.

His twin Haru laughs "maybe he ate so many bad guys"

I chuckle again and shrug "that's just how my family's dogs are, Akamaru there is average size, when we get to the Leaf Village I'll have to show y'all my Uncles dog! He's the biggest thing we've seen in 2 generations!"

Both boys get off Akamaru and come join me by the fire. "What's the Leaf Village like?"

My heart grows warm, just thinking about my village and the people in it. "It's amazing"

Akashi scoffs, "well everyone thinks that of their own villages"

Haru nudges him in the ribs "don't be rude, we can't exactly say that about our village can we?"

Akashi crosses his arms and confronts me again "Dad said you're one of Sayuris friends?"

Well kiddo I'm a lot more then just a friend

"I am! We went to the Academy together!" 

"What's she like now?" Asks Haru, unwrapping his kunai holster from his leg "we haven't seen her in years"

I start roasting the fish over the fire, leaning back onto Akamaru "well she's as stubborn as it gets" I laugh "but she's a fighter, and she's super strong and she's gone on a bunch of missions" knowing exactly what 10 yr old boys liked to hear

"So she fights people?!" They exclaimed simultaneously

I nod, slightly puzzled "why wouldn't she?"

They both exchanged a look then Haru explained "in our old Village, a lot of the Kunoichi would stop doing missions when they got to around Sayuris age so they could focus on stupid girly stuff like sewing and flower arranging and getting married, except for a couple strong ones like our mama, she only stopped when she had us!"

I laugh softly "well that's a big difference between our Villages, I don't think Sayuri is gonna stop for a long time"

Akashi sighs, clearly satisfied "i was worried she would become lame, I mean, she's so cool it'd be a shame if she stopped!"

Haru jumps at me "has she had a lot of missions?"

I nod seriously, testing one of the fish to see if it was ready, "oh quite a few! Very important ones"

"Does she totally kick butt?!"

I nod again seriously, thinking back to the time Sayuri and I confronted that Fire man during the Chunin exams "most definitely totally"

"Has she ever" Harus voice drops to a whisper "killed any bad guys"

I stop and study the kids. Akashi seems only slightly interested in the answer and Haru looks scared and excited for the answer.

I exhale, passing them the roasted fish "I'm sure she has, I know I have. It's part of being a Shinobi. You'll come to realize that" I nod towards Harus pack of Kunais "have you graduated yet? From your Academy?"

He shakes his head "graduation would've been right after Mama had the new baby, we would've though! We were top of our class!"

"Impressive!" I laugh a bit inside, they're just like how Sayuri was. She, Shikamaru, Ronin and Sakura were always top of our class when it came to intelligence tests. 

I continue making small talk with the twins and answering their questions about Shinobi life and the Leaf Village. Akida and Asuma had gone scouting, i had wanted to help with that part but since Shikamaru and Sayuri were coming here to escort the twins back to the Leaf Village this would be my only chance in who knows how long to see Sayuri again. 

The messenger bird i sent out earlier has returned and begins making circles around the clearing. They must be close. 

A minute later two figures burst into the clearing, pausing slightly before continuing their way to us. I beamed brightly at the familiar faces "hey kids, your cousin is here"

Sayuri immediately tackled me in a hug, I held her firmly to me as I quickly pecked her forehead and rested my face on her head. She pulled away from me all too quickly to turn and greet her cousins. An excited gleam in her eyes. 

"Hi guys! I'm Sayur-" she started but was cut off with a 

"Kiba said you killed bad guys" from Haru 

And a "ARE THOSE TRENCH KNIVES" from Akashi 

Boys will be boys i guess, I chuckle and pat Haru's head "alright buddy, Sayuri and Shikamaru here are going to escort you guys back to the Leaf Village ok?"

They both nod and turn towards Sayuri, obvious admiration in their eyes 

"I should probably go meet up with Asuma and Akida now" i say regretfully, wishing I could stay with Sayuri for longer. 

Shikamaru nods and begins drilling me with tidbits of information they picked up at the Leaf Village but I spent the entire time staring into Sayuris blue eyes. The wind blew lightly across her face, making the small wisps of her hair blow around her face as she laughed slightly as Akamaru licked her.

I remember holding her the night before we left for the mission. She had her legs tangled with mine and both her arms wrapped above my waist. I had held her tightly to my chest and ran my fingers through her soft hair until it was time to leave. 

Sayuri finished checking the straps on the boys small backpacks and the turned towards me, blushing as she saw my eyes already trained on her.

"We should probably get going, we'll have to stay in Makkari tonight cause its almost an entire days travel back home" she says, almost sadly "tell Asuma and Akida they better be safe and find my aunt." Her eyes stayed with mine the whole time

Shikamaru sighs, "alright kids, lets get going" he gives me a nod as he turns away and begins heading in the direction of the village. Both boys trailing after him and beginning to drill him with questions. 

I squeeze Sayuris hand and hold her neck as I press a soft kiss to her lips "be safe with them ok? Stay in Makkari long enough to rest up and then get back to Kohana as fast as possible, you'll be safest there."

She giggled as she squeezed my hand, "Kiba stop worrying so much, I promise we'll be fine." Her blue eyes twinkled slightly "I love you"

"I love you too" grinning widely I kiss her one more time before watching her run off after Shikamaru and her cousins until the disappear into the tree line 

Nodding to Akamaru we both break off into a run in the opposite direction 

We'll find the Sayuri, I promise you won't lose anyone else

Ok but im actually so happy I'm writing again, yes this is getting updated at 4am but im still happy. Remember to leave a vote or comment
