As I turned the stove off and plated her food in a way I knew she'd love, I went by the fridge to get her O.J. and Hennessy on the tray with her new pack of cigarettes I had bought from the store.

Feeling my phone vibrate, I checked, and the girls were texting me to see if I was still coming out. I sighed while I put my phone back into my pocket and grabbed the tray.

I went up the stairs, praying she was asleep so we wouldn't interact. I approached her door and heard loud, obnoxious snores. I sighed in relief and then turned the doorknob slowly.

Seeing that she was asleep with a man, I immediately rolled my eyes and put the food on her nightstand without making a sound.

"Where you bout to go?" I heard her say. I exhaled slowly. "I'm going out to the mall with some school friends." Seeing that, she grabbed the cigarette from the tray and lit the match.

"And you think this breakfast will let you go?" she chuckled evilly. "I cleaned the whole house, got new groceries in the fridge, and ensured all your accounts were current. I just want to go out with some friends," I explained.

"Baby, let her go. She has been cooped up in the crib. Let her go out so we can have some extra fun." He grinned at her while kissing her neck. She smiled and then waved me off, indicating that I should leave.

Praise Yahweh. I thought to myself as I went to my room and grabbed my stuff before texting the girls that I was on the way.

V A N D A Y A   P O V

I am taking pictures in my bathroom to see if they are Instagram-worthy as I wait for Na'Ryah to come over. "Ava, can you come down here." I heard my mom say as I followed downstairs to reach her.

"Hey, Mom wassup." I sat on the couch as she looked through her magazines. "Your father and I are going out, so I need you to watch Mateo for me." I nodded as I took some grapes from her fruit bowl.

"Fine, I'll take care of the little monster, but Na'Ryah is coming over today." She nodded her head as we heard the front door open and close. "Baby!"

"In here." I heard papí enter the living room as we looked back at him. "There's my pretty queen and princess." I smiled while he kissed Mom's head.
