Euphemism.
That's when you serve indigestible words on a silver platter,
Just to make them sound more palatable.

"You're so mature for your age!"
That's a Euphemism.

It's a "compliment" that identifies I was never a child.
A "compliment" that reveals I act like an individual without needs.
A "compliment" that tells me I saw the darkness in the world long before I was supposed to.

I'm a firm believer that maturity isn't dependent on age,
But rather the severity of the trials the mind and heart have undergone.
That's the reason why, at the ripe old age of 16,
I would do virtually anything to be a kid again.
