The last thing Skyler expected to get was a test from her dead best friend. The same best friend that had abandoned her all summer for a group of pogues, but the same best friend that supported her through her blue eyelid phase, coming out era, and her painting surfboards hobbie. That was Sarah Cameron, that was her best friend, no matter how many lonely trips she had to take to the beach over the summer.

"Nope!" Skyler chunked her phone when she got the text, in the process of painting a turtle on a surf board she'd found on the beach. "Nope. Nope. I do not mess with ghost. I do not mess with ghost."

Her phone went off again, only this time it was a call. Skyler braced herself, exhaling loudly as she shook her head. "Don't do it, Sky."

Yet, she did it.

"Sky?" Sarah laughed from the other line. "Hello? You there?"

"So, you get phones in the after life?" Skyler cleared her throat. "Cool. Cool. Cool. I figured it'd be super hippie like, you know, all anti-devices and all about peace and love."

Sarah laughed. "What! I'm not dead!"

The girl rose her eyebrows. "No, yes, you are."

"I think i'd know if I was dead." Sarah argued with a giggle in her tone. "Hello?"

Skyler grinned. "Sarah, are you serious?"

"I'm alive and i'm hidden out somewhere." the blonde informed her. "You can't tell anyone. No one."

"No, got it. Totally. No one." Skyler nodded her heart. "Wait, but why are you hiding? Are you pregnant? Are you apart of the 750,000 teenage pregnancies?"

"What? No!" Sarah laughed. "You know John B?"

"Greasy pogue? Yup." she hummed.

"We have to get his name cleared before we can come home." the Cameron girl spoke from the other line. "I really need your help."

"Of course, anything." Skyler nodded her head, checking the hallway to make sure no one was listening in.

"John B's friends just called. There's a woman in Charleston that they think can help clear his name." Sarah nodded as Skyler sat down, making sure to soak up all that information. "You need to go with them and tell them about your mom."

"My mom?" Skyler asked with an odd look. "What's she got to do with it?"

"She's a lawyer, right? Do you think she could represent John B with whatever information this lady can provide?" Sarah asked her hopefully. "It would seriously help."

"I'm sure she can, yeah." Skyler nodded her head, standing up and walking toward her window. "When you said John B's friends, where you talking about a pick up truck parked infront of my house?"

"I kinda told them you were on board before even calling you." Sarah admitted as Skyler hid a laugh. "So, are you?"

"Charleston is really nice around this time." she admitted as Sarah cheered. "So, just to be clear, they know you're not dead?"
