I get a call at 4 in the morning meaning I only slept for 2 hours, I grabbed my phone and it was a random number but I answered

Random:Is this Maddison Rodriguez?
Me:uhh yeah?
Random:Hi my name is doctor.Lopez and I have very bad news..
Me:oh uhm what is it?
Doctor:Your father Kevin Rodriguez has sadly passed away last night due to a heart attack. We really tried our best. I'm so sorry for your lost...
Me:...*sobbing*
Doctor:I'm very sorry. Goodbye.
*end of call*

𝘼𝙨 𝙨𝙤𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙨 𝙄 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙙 "𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙆𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙣 𝙍𝙤𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙪𝙚𝙯 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙨𝙖𝙙𝙡𝙮 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙮" 𝙄 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙯𝙚. Tears started to form in my eyes and I was in shock, I dropped the phone and started sobbing non stop I even forgot to hang up the call. After a minute or 2 javon woke up to my crying then he got up from the bed and got down to the floor and said "Omg MADDY what's wrong ma" while I was on my knees crying on the floor "m-my" I said then he hugged me "what's wrong mads" he said looking at me "m-my d-" I couldn't get the words out cuz of how much I was stuttering "you can tell me later?" He said "my d-dad" I said still crying non stop "what happened to Kevin?" He said looking very worried "he's - hes de-dead! My b-best friend.. HES DEAD" I said yelling "m-Maddy im so sorry I should've listened last night when you said you felt like something was wrong" he told me giving me a hug while I holded onto him

"My dadd" I said over and over. Javon then left his room and woke up his parents

𝗝𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘃:
Once MADDY told me everything and I felt so bad but I didn't know how to help because I never went thru such a tragedy, so I got up and ran to my mom and dads room to wake them up "MOM,DAD" I yelled shaking them "what javon it's 4 in the morning" they said rubbing their eyes "maddys dad..." I said tearing up "what about Kevin?" They said looking at me "he's dead! Maddy just got the call from the hospital I don't know if her mom did though" I said "oh my god... poor Maddison I can't imagine how she feels, and omg why Kevin he had such a nice soul" mom said "oh my god Kevin" my dad said with a tear in his eye since they were good friends since the first day they met "we are going there right now" mom said getting up with dad

𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘃:
When javon came back in he was with both his parents. They came in giving me a hug while I just cried uncontrollably "why dad! Why did they take him?" I said "I don't know sweetie I'm so sorry" Jessica said rubbing my back. I then got up and said "I'm sorry but I really have to go home" "so you mind if we all come" DJ said "no- you can- can come" I said wiping the tears off my face.

We all went to my house and my mom wasn't in her room, we looked around then heard noice coming from the bathroom so I entered and saw my mom and the kids crying "mom I heard already" said coming up to them and hugging them very tight "I-I'm so sorry for your lost Madelyn,Maddison,lily, and mike" jayla said coming in to hug us "thank you" We said under our breath then they all came inside the bathroom and we all hugged for a while. "dad wouldn't want us crying about this, he would want us to be happy" I said getting up "Your right, let's go downstairs and talk about it downstairs" mom said getting up too then they all followed downstairs.

We all sat down and stood silent for a minute "I miss when we all met and my dad was super chill about it" I said "yeah since that day he became like my best friend. I hope I was his too" DJ said looking down "I remember this one time we went to cali and went camping , Kevin was so scared wolfs would come and eat us alive because we heard all the howls" mom said laughing "ima miss boxing with him for sure, he was really great at it" javon said "yeah" I said happier than before "imma miss daddy but he's in a better place looking over us right mommy?" Lily said "yes baby he's in heaven and he's going to still take care of us" mom said giving lily a hug "I hope daddy is happy there without being able to talk to us but being able to see us" mike said with a light smile "yeah, he'll be fine! So will we ok hun" mom said giving him a hug afterwards.

After a good 3 or 4 hours we all ate breakfast "I'm sorry MADDY for what you are going thru" javon said hugging me and I gave him a quick kiss "it's ok, he's in a better place we'll be fine" I said with a bright smile making him smile and hugging me again.

The day went by and I texted my dad

I love you and miss you dad, I promise you I won't cry. Every time someone brings you up ima smile for everything you've done for us. I love you so much I always will pa. I should've stayed in the call with you longer... I even felt late at night that something wasn't right.. now look at this but, I'll be fine. Please look after me, I love you papi. Fly high
