°What if I left you behind°
Josia started seeing red. He looked inside the room and went straight for Adam. He felt himself heating up. He felt he couldn't get to Adam fast enough.
"I promised to keep my calm tonight, but you bastards keep pushing my buttons."
"Josiah."
Maria, Thando's mom called out.
Second hit of the night (or third if you really wanted to go there).
Adam's nose was bleeding. His face heating up. He was sure Josia was over what happened earlier that night but he had a feeling it was something new. Did Josia know yet?
"Thando is in hospital, bloody Marcus hit her with his car."
"I don't see how-"
Reality hit him. This had nothing (to some extent) to do with him but Thando. Thando was in danger.
Josia pulled in Adam gripping onto his shirt. Fuming with anger
"Try me son, please try me. I can't believe I forced my daughter to marry a dog like you."
Adam's face fell, shame hitting over him like a relentless wave.
"She could be dead right now and you're standing here disrespecting me."
"I was thinking just that Josia. Maybe you should go see her."
Despite the shame, Adam felt the need to stand up to Josia, he chances of becoming a son-in-law were clearly over.
"Sleep with one eye open Fisher, I'm coming for you."
Josia smirked and left for Emmarentia Academic. The last time he spoke to his eldest child he disowned her and now he was facing the possibility of that moment truly ever being the last time he spoke to her.
Adam kept rubbing his cheek. The pain slowly leaving his face and quickly making its way to his heart. The whole night he could not help but picture Thando's shocked face when she heard that she had lost Luka Bank. It kept coming back to him and now he would no longer hear from her.
"At least she's alive right now."
He mumbled to himself.
"Doctor Ford wait. I'd like to see her."
"Oh no you're staying here and I'm making sure that you won't see her ever again. Come on Maria our daughter needs us."
Adam was left there ashamed. Were these shares worth ruining what he had with Thando?
"What do you mean she needs us? Josia what do you mean by our our daughter needs us?"
"Thando was, uh involved in a an accident we'll something like that."
"Oh no."
Maria started sobbing and Josia only gripped her hand tighter leading her to their car.
"Is she okay at least? I, can't believe this. This is all our fault Josia and we found a way to make it her fault. Josia we forced her into marrying Adam and she refused. She refused Josiah."
"Dammit, Maria don't you think I know that? I know that and I..."
Josia could not bring himself to telling his wife that he had disowned his daughter.
Josia finally saw the tall building after what felt like an eternity of driving it was only eleven minutes but to be honest such situations make even five minutes feel like and hour.
Maria unbuckled her seat belt and ran into the hospital.
"I'm Thando Ford's mother, she was hit by a car tonight. Is she okay what room is she in."
"Calm down Ma'am, I'll check for you right now. I think you ask doctor -"
"Doctor... the girl who was hit by a car tonight is she okay? She's my daughter doctor. Can we see her my husbands around - well outside parking."
"We'll have to wait for me."
Maria noticed the in Nurse Moshe's face and overall demeanour. Her mind started racing. Scenarios came to mind. The worst seemed truly possible right now.
"Nurse she is okay right? I mean maybe the worst would be a coma but she is alive right. She's alive."
"She is alive. That's great news-"
"You said you're her parents and right? She unfortunately did not make it."
"That's not possible she was fine I was with her, how could you tell me that? I want a doctor."
"I'm sorry Sir but that's happened. My goes to you."
Maria fell down with shock.
Thando was gone.
She was...
Is
Gone.
