i was assigned to 002 as her partner and to APE's surprise and glee i was unaffected by her though do to the significant power difference between his astray noir and her strelizia i doubted we would remain partners forever we worked better apart literally since i refused to teach them how to use my gundams
though Dr. franxx was an acception he was in fact working on modifying franxx from his test squads to perform at the level the noir did
not only did he become strelizia's partner he also become the new leader of the nines after yet again Dr. franxx's tampering he made them loyal to me instead of papa he also made them act as if they were still papa's dogs in reality they were mine
me and sakura as i had decided to name 02 as that wasn't a name and she hated being called iona so i named her sakura for her hair we had an interesting relationship she referred to me as her elder brother but at the same time we have been intimate with one another several times
eventually though she was given another partner and i was stationed with noir but the Dr. had told ape he was working on a unit to truly bring out my capabilities and so he was given free rein in regards to me i was curious what the old man had planned eventually the nines were transferred to the endeavor when it had completed it's repairs
i however was stationed at plantation 13 one of the old mans test plantations i had heard sakura was stationed there
i of course wasn't given my own transport and had to fly with the noir because of course i landed within the hanger of the plantation and disembarked the noir
"ah welcome nines omega, we have been expecting you" nana said i could tell on her face she was scared of me as was the defense commander
"you have no need to fear i shall not harm you or cause you trouble so long as you keep your nose out of my business" i said
"of course, nines omega, if you will follow nana she will take you to the house" hachi said he was sweating bullets
"before that, where is 02 i was told she was stationed here and expected her to greet me" i asked they looked at each other and back at me their fear heightened
"we ordered her to remain in the birdcage we didn't believe she actually had relation to you other then being part of the same squad at one point" hachi said as he braced himself
"i see very well take me to the bird cage" i said i knew when to use my authority and be threatening and use the fear the nines had to my advantage this was not one of those moments
"yes of course sir please follow me" she said i nodded and did so arriving in the house i was jumped by sakura
"ONII-CHAN" she yelled while grasping me in a bear hug
"their you are imouto i was expecting you to be greet me but you didn't, does my little sister not miss her big brother" i asked
"no i did miss you onii-chan the stupid ape wouldn't let me see you" she said cutely as she let me go i laughed as i pat my head
"it's fine sakura" i said and she smiled brightly
"to the rest of you who may know me as nines omega my name is ichika use it clear" i asked
"HAI" they replied
"who's your squad leader" i asked she stepped forward timidly afraid of me it was clear and i held out my hand
"it's an honor to work with you" i said with a bright smile she was shocked but took my hand
"you too" she said
"i'm gonna be honest i don't take orders like at all blame sakura for that, so i'll be doing my own thing alright" i asked she nodded again shocked by how bright and cheerful i was
"why did you say blame sakura" hiro asked
"you her partner" i asked he nodded
"to answer your question i'm your predecessor, i am the only stamen to be entirely unaffected by her" i said the squad gasped
"why weren't you two made permanent" ikuno asked
"simply put would put all of your eggs into a single basket no you'd separate them, i am the strongest stamen so as such and like sakura i don't need a pistil to operate hell my machine the astray noir can only by piloted by one person" i said they nodded in understanding
"so are you part of our squad now then" zorome asked
"at least for the time being yeah it may be permanent and you may join the nines as elites" i said they gasped again
"really" miku asked i nodded
"your the test squad as such you will be testing new units and if you perform as well as me and Dr. franxx hope then yes" i said they beamed at that
"but i don't have a partner anymore" ichigo said
"that's why i am here" i said
"oh so you'll replace goro" she said
"or i can have the doctor make you a machine you can pilot on your own and teach you how to pilot stuff like my gundam, it's up to you" i said she looked up at me surprised
"i have a choice" she asked i nodded
"i need to think" she said
"take as long as you need all of your franxx are being taken from the plantation and modified anyway" i said
"the nines themselves are looking for a squad to complete our little battalion" i told them as we slowly got know one another
