It's been two days since you suddenly found out that Alma had sent that letter. And ironically it was the best thing that's happened despite your panic and dread. You didn't hate your family, though you could point out some flaws. It just felt like an invasion of space. So now you were deep-cleaning everything in your house... for the sixth time.

"Ugh! C'mon! You need to leave for lunch!" Mirabel groaned. "You've even organized your spice rack. Alphabetically!"

You ignored her and fidgeted with the various beads and wires, wondering if you should fix the materials by color or by alphabet. You were snapped out of your thoughts by a shout outside your door.

"Are they still cleaning their house?! You were supposed to bring them out ten minutes ago!"

Isabela. At that moment, she dragged you out by the ankle with one of her vines. You dropped whatever you were holding with a yelp and Mirabel followed you out. You were hanging upside down.

"Was this really needed?"

She glared. "Uhm. Yeah! You've been hiding-"

"¡No me escondía! ¡He estado limpiando!" you argued, only for her to throw a bunch of pollen in your face. You sneezed, making a small cloud of baby blue.

"You've been hiding for two days from Abuela since you found out that your family was coming over!" she shouted back.

You groaned and attempted to get down. "You can let me go now. I think I'll head to the barn for Rico."

Isabela raised a brow and crossed her arms before dropping you with a thump. "Well, I think you should head actually eat something! Don't you ever think of your own health for once?!"

By now, Mirabel had awkwardly left because of the tension between the two of you. You grumpily went to the Casita as you patted yourself off from the colors Isa had splashed all over you.

"You think I'd be an alcoholic if I did, genius?!" you spat as you snapped your fingers. You helped Julieta with the food, laying it out as everyone else did their part to help.

When you did sit, you were between Bruno and Camilo. The two have been talking about the uncle's telenovelas for a while now and you liked to listen to them. Though you were mostly quiet, they liked to include you. Probably to get a third opinion.

"What if the aunt got her memories back?" you asked nonchalantly.

"Oh! Yeah! Then she could..." And there goes Camilo's excited rambling.

You laughed a bit at his suggestions and ideas. You liked their company and letting out a laugh was easy around the goofy shapeshifter and the dorky uncle. After a bit, Alma stood up to make an announcement after Dolores told her something as walked by. Everyone at the table started to go quiet.

"I have just received news that your cousins have arrived," she told you. "Would you like to go greet them by the road? Dolores said they'll be here when we finish setting up the table."

You shrugged your shoulders. "I'll be fine with meeting them." You weren't sure which cousins she meant but you were on good terms with all of them, so you didn't think much about them. Since Julieta hasn't finished making some of the dishes yet, you might as well get there early. "I can go right now."

You got up from the table and Isabela seemed to mirror your actions. "I'll go with them."

Before you could protest, Alma seemed to have done it for you. "I will go. I need you to stay here." The flower girl sat back down as her grandmother got up. You had a confused look on your face.

You didn't say anything as you left the dining table with Doña Alma. To say the tension was thick was an understatement. You drove a small cart out of town and down the road. You weren't sure what sort of bags your cousins were bringing but it was handy.
