High School Graduation Day..

I woke up when a flash of light coming from my bedroom window touched my sleepy eyes. I instantly opened them and looked at the clock on my bedside table. I jerked up when I saw that it's already 7:25 am. I suddenly remembered that our Graduation Ceremony will start at exactly 8:00 in the morning today.

"Oh god no.. I'm going to be late!" I screamed in shock. I only have a few minutes left until it starts. I ran to the bathroom and took a quick shower. I usually took a full hour to bathe but I knew that on this case, that would be impossible. After that, I got myself ready and ate breakfast that only consisted of Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich and fresh milk. I had to hurry up or else I'd die of embarassment at school.

I live with my aunt since she's the only family we have in this City but I have two younger brothers who lives with our mom in the rural areas of the town. My aunt Margaret is not around today because of some out-of-town trip with her colleagues so that means I'm attending my Graduation alone since my mom can't leave our 'little necessity store slash fast food business' back home, plus she needs to look after my  two younger brothers but she promised that she would make it up to me next time. I understood her, though. Because it's not easy to be a mother.

There's only 15 minutes left until 8am. I was heading out when suddenly my phone rang.  Who could this be? I thought as I pulled out my phone from my bag's pocket. And just on time, a cab passed by and I got in. Thank god I won't have to wait for the bus to arrive..  I instructed the cab driver where I wished to go and then answered my phone.

"Hey Chelsea, where are you now?? The event's almost starting!" My best friend, Trixie's voice came from the speaker of my phone. "I'm riding a cab. I'm almost there. I'm sorry I forgot to set the alarm."  I said apologetically.  "Okay, I was just worried because you were so excited for this day to come. I didn't think you'd be late but just hurry up. See you in a bit. Love ya."  She said. "Sure. I'll be there in a bit. See ya Trix." I told her and ended the call.

Trixie and I were neighbors and childhood friends back home. We also went to the same Grade school and High school that's why we know each other very well. I see her as the sister that I never had and she feels the same way since she only have brothers, too. But unlike me, Trixie's  whole family are present today. The other year, they had bought a nice bungalow here. Their status in life is more comfortable and easy than us.  Her parents didn't need to stay home since her brothers were all grown-up and they had a more stable source of living. Despite of the little sadness I felt for myself, I'm very much happy for my friend. And I know that I won't feel left out because they have always treated me like family.

At school, it's always the same scenario. Me, Trixie and our two other girl friends, Alice and Jenny flocked together. Our friendship circle can be described as 'nerdy', 'unpopular', 'wallflowers', 'NBSB'. Sometimes, the popular spoiled brats even call us 'losers' but we didn't care and just let it passed. We always gave importance to our studies and chose to be happy and contented on simple things. Our life may looked so boring for those party goers but together, we had experienced our own kind of 'fun' too like any other high school girls. I can still say that it was the most exciting chapter that happened in my life. I can't believe the day would come that I have to say goodbye to all the things that I'd became used to. Time passed too quickly. It seems only yesterday when I still cried over my period.  I reminisced.

I snapped out of my day dreaming when I noticed that the cab had stopped. I was a few blocks away from school when suddenly we're stuck in the traffic. OMG! I won't make it on time.. I tried to wait for a moment hoping that the traffic would subside but it didn't. I paid and thanked the driver and decided to get off and ran. I was running so fast with my high-heels on, heart racing and sweat dripping from my forehead. Anyone who didn't  know about the situation I was in would really think I'm crazy. I was almost on the last turn heading to my school when suddenly I bumped into something that seemed like a tall, hard wall. I was thrown back from the impact and fell with my butt touching the ground. "Ouch! what the..." I blurted.  That surely hurt so much. I said to myself.

When I looked up, I saw that it wasn't a tall, hard wall.. but a guy.  Yes, a GUY. And a very good-looking one but he didn't looked  so happy.  His intense gaze was directed to me and his cold, alluring eyes were looking at me with.. Fury? What did I do to him for him to look at me like that?
I also realized that we were not alone. Besides from the common passers-by, he had company with him including two other swoonsome guys and a strikingly beautiful girl that looked like a stripper rather than a student on her super skimpy outfit.  Jeez, bimbos... The girl suddenly clung to Mr. Good looking guy and said in a worried tone "Sky! Are you alright? Are you hurt?". He glanced at her a  bit and just told her "I'm fine" in a low tone and  shrugged.

'Sky'.. So that's his name? Is she his girlfriend? Well if she is, they look good together.. I thought to myself. Then, the girl gazed at me from head to toe with disgust. Like, she was trying to assess me. She kept that look on her face the whole time and it's not helping my situation.

He faced me again and the look of irritation was visible from his eyes but he's clearly trying to supress it. "YOU" he started.. "Next time be careful where you're going. You're quite lucky that I'm not in a shitty mood right now. Get out of my sight. I don't want to see your stupid face ever again."  He said coldly.

I was taken aback by what he'd told me. I didn't expect him to say that. He was just too... handsome and perfect,  for me to believe that he did actually said those things. I could see a faint smirk on his lips. It's obvious that he was making a fool out of me and his friends were also enjoying it. Typical bullies! I felt humiliated and I wanted to cry. I even hoped that he would help me get up and fetch my things from the ground. But I was wrong. I immediately got up and prepared to leave.

When I looked at my surroundings, I found out that we're just a few steps outside the exclusive international school for the wealthy people. It's just three blocks away from the school I was going to. He must be from here.. I thought.

After I collected myself, I did the first thing that I thought was the best way to do on that shameful moment.

I ran. I ran as fast as I could..
