Chapter 4 - (Unedited)

First day..

I still can't believe I'm now heading to GAU to attend my first day of classes. I woke up so early and made sure not to be late again. I had enough trouble because of that. My Aunt was very supportive of me. She made sure I ate well and even handed me a generous amount of pocket money for me to spend. I tried to refuse her offer since she'd already done so much for me but she wouldn't budge so I just accepted it and thanked her for the Nth time. I also made sure to wear my cutest dress. I don't know why but maybe because I think it does help with the first impression thing when you look quite presentable. I can't help getting so conscious sometimes. Now I'm almost there. I can't hide my excitement anymore. It's not that far from where I currently live and only takes a 20 minute ride to get there.

I decided to take up the course BS in Primary Education because I'm fond of children and it's my dream to teach and share my knowledge and be the bigger person. I just love the idea of standing in front of a classroom with all the ears listening to whatever you're saying. Just picturing the image makes me want to do a happy dance. I am now on my feet heading to the main gate. I could see a few students also doing the same. The road was a bit slippery and wet because the rain poured a little too heavily last night and so that's why there are some puddle of muddy water remaining. I took extra care and made sure not to get my shoes dirty. They were my favorite ones and I think the fanciest from the few pairs I owned.

I was still walking in a slow pace due to the slippery road when I suddenly heard something coming near that I couldn't figure out what. Wait, is it like a sound of an.. engine? I whipped my head to it's direction but it's far too late because what greeted me was a huge puddle of dirty water from the ground that came splashing on my dress and then followed by someone's male voice yelling "Hey! Watch out!" . Just. Like. That. I screamed "What the fuck!" but he didn't seem to hear. Now my outfit was ruined, I don't know anyone here and I don't even have a change of clothes. I surely am doomed. When I came back to my senses, I tried my best to catch a glimpse of the scumbag who did this but the vehicle was already entering the gates. However, I didn't miss the silver & black Nissan GTR he was using. I saw that model in Youtube when I was searching for a nice video to watch and found 'World's Fastest Cars'. I am not an expert on cars but I know that not many people owned such a sleek vehicle. Not here at least. I'll definitely find him. I'll hunt him and I'll kill him. Just kidding but I wish I could.

I grabbed my handkerchief and tried cleaning my poor dress with it but gave up anyway when I realized it's not helping. The surroundings suddenly felt crowded and I can feel eyes staring at me and people with various expressions plastered on their faces. Shock, pity, disgust and some were even laughing and enjoying the sight of my misery. I grimaced in embarassment and just wished on that very moment that the ground from where I was standing would open up and would swallow me to escape this unfortunate circumstance. How could a promising day start so marvelously and then suddenly turn out so horribly wrong.

I felt a hand tap my shoulder and I turned around, now facing a dark-haired, brown-eyed, slightly-chubby girl. She seemed nice and a concern look was evident on her face. She looked at me and said "Hi, I'm Mariel and I'm a Junior here in GAU. I saw what happened to you and I'm so sorry. Rich brats. They are so insensitive sometimes. They should probably start learning good manners. Not all of them are like that, though". She waited for me to speak but I felt like I can't even utter a single word. My mouth just kept opening and then closing again. I tried again and my voice came out at last.

"I-I don't know what to do Mariel. I just got here and now this.. I-I never thought--.." I looked down into myself and panicked. Trying to think what to say next. Mariel seemed to understand and answered "Don't worry, I have extra clothes back in my dorm. My dorm room's just a few blocks away from here. I can lend some to you. They're not like the ones you're wearing now though. And I'm not sure if they would fit". She said with a sheepish smile.

"Really? Oh my gosh thank you so much! You're a lifesaver Mariel! I didn't know what to do. I'm sure they would fit me just fine. Thank you really. I'll make sure to repay your kindness someday. By the way, I'm Chelsea. I'm a freshman taking up BS Primary Ed. And speaking of that, I hope I'm not late yet!"

She glanced at her wrist watch and said "No worries we still have time. You still have 17 minutes until the first period starts. We have to move now quickly. And what a coincidence! I'm also from College of Education like you. Most of the people from our department are accommodating and easy to get along with. You'll surely meet lots of friends there Chelsea".

"Great to know that. I'm looking forward to it". I replied and smiled brightly while she lead the way to her dorm. I felt so relieved that she was there to help me.

"Hey! Watch out!" I yelled at the girl who was walking like she actually owned the road. She wasn't even on the sidewalk anymore and was dangerously roaming almost halfway on the vehicle lane. It looked like she was wearing high heels and was obviously having a hard time walking with it. Her pace was slow and wobbly and the wet ground didn't help her state and just looked completely stupid to me. I already saw her from afar but didn't noticed the puddle of muddy water that came in contact with my tires until it splashed all over her dress. The poor girl was surely fuming with anger. Way to go, Hale!

I wanted to help the girl, believe me I really do but what could I do for her anyway. I was having second thoughts. I don't even have spare clothes with me to lend her and I cannot be late for our initiation activities or else I'm out. This is the first thing Criminology majors do and I can't just give up my goals to some nobody. It's her fault anyway. I don't have all the time in the world to listen to a ranting girl and I certainly don't have the time to find something to dress her with. I'm good with undressing though. So I decided to get going and ignored her.

I parked my car to the school parking lot and swiftly made my way to my destination.
