Natasha had gone off with some boy toy she met so I sat at the bar. I looked around the room looking over my options. There was the guy surrounded by a gaggle of girls who tried they're best to get him to take one of them home. There was the softer looking gentleman reading his book as what looked like his friend made out with a blonde girl next to him. Wait...that blonde girl was Steve's date.
No doubt about it that was Sharon. Same tight not flattering lavender dress. Right away I was looking around to find Steve only to see him sitting at the bar, a beer in his hand while he casually kinda had a conversation with the bartender.
I got my drink and walked over to Steve sitting next to him. "So I guess she's not the one is she." I gave a him a kind smile. "Nope." He replied popping the P. "She spent all night talking about how she was so upset her ex boyfriend called her boring before breaking up with her or something. Or maybe I just heard the word boring because that's exactly what she is." He sipped his beer smiling.
I let out a borderline snort laugh at his comment. Me and him were close so I wasn't embarrassed.
"Well at least she'll stop flirting with you, since I don't think she'll be able to talk with that guy sticking his tongue down her throat." I laughed and Steve let out a big smile.
I started to notice the way the crinkles by his blue eyes look when he smiled like that. It was adorable to say the least. When he wasn't 'The Captain' he was such a goofball.
He looked at me with his baby blue eyes as his smile died down. We just looked at each other's eyes for a moment. There was silence but a comfortable kind. The kind that get like you were talking to each other without letting out a single sound.
"Next round on me." I smacked a twenty one the bar. "No let me get the next round." He smiled. "Just because your the man doesn't mean you need to pay." I teased.
"No I'm just going to pay cause I'm not an asshole who's gonna make the other person pay. I'd pay if you were a dude too." I grinned at his comment. "Unless you were Tony in which I would tell him 'fuck it, buy the bar'." He said and I let out a loud laugh. "Jeez language Cap."
He rolled his eyes to me with the slightest of grins, like he tried to stay serious even though he wanted to laugh. I have a him a sickly sweet smile to tease him.
Three rounds later we ( meaning only I )were slurring our words. "Ok no more, I don't want to throw up on fury's desk tomorrow." I said finishing my drink. "That's probably a good idea." He admitted before grabbing his coat and wrapping it around his broad shoulders.
"Want me to walk you home." He looked to me. "Nah I'll just get a taxi, I wouldn't want to bug you." You wrapped your black jacket and buttoned it up heading for the door with Steve following behind.
"I doubt there's to many non-sketchy taxis around at 2am." "Is it really two." I looked at him like he grew another head. "Yah doll." He opened the door for me.
He walked me down to my apartment complex. It wasn't to far but it felt like we were talking for hours, in a good way. I never realized how funny and interesting Steve could be. He was respectful too.
As I set my jacket down on my chair I thought about Steve. We had a really good night. I then got distracted by realizing I had 3 missed calls from Thor. Shit.
I shot a quick text.
Y:sorry I didn't call you I was out with Steve and Nat
T: thank Odin your ok I got worried
Y: it's ok I was safe love
T: as long as your ok 😊I tied to start a conversation but it was so hard to with Thor. You had to be talking about a specific topic or it would fall apart. Is it normal to have a hard time talking to your boyfriend? Is that good?
Before you answered your own question you fell asleep.
