That Elevator

Hanna shook Nira's shoulder trying to snap her out of her imagination.

"Nira! The elevator is gonna close, snap out of it!" Hanna yelled into Nira's ear making the older perk up to her normal state.

She hurriedly went inside the elevator with sweaty hands and Hanna then  followed.

She tries to hide her flushed expression by giving a cold face but clearly, Hanna knows something is wrong.

Even with the withdrawn expression plastered on Nira's face, She can't help but secretly agonize inside because of the particular event that just happened.

As they reached to the level they selected, the two thanked the elevator operator and got off.

Hanna then pulled Nira's arm to a less crowded corner, making the older startled but went with her anyway.

"Hey, what the hell is going-"

"Ackk, you can't believe what just happened!" Nira cut off Hanna's question-statement, making the young girl look at her with an interested but more of a confused face.

Nira was squirming like a teenage girl that's just been notice by her crush. Luckily they are in a less crowded spot so only Hanna can notice her weirdness.

"Okay, you're acting super weird right now but tell me what happened cause-"

Her phone suddenly rang making her groan and create an annoyed look on her face.

She took out her phone and answered the call.

"Yah! Where are you two?"

"We're on our way there"

"You two better get here fast because-"

Hanna ended the call not letting the other person finish what they were about to say.

"That's for cutting me off."

Nira laughed and took Hanna by the shoulder.

"I'll talk to you about it later but come on, we have to get there or they will be more irritated."

"Oh my god. You guys just did not-"

"Yes we did!" Nira insisted with a thrill in her voice.

"I really wished i get to ask his number, or at least his name!"

"The elevator was waiting for us you idiot, And besides you were too stunned to even speak a word that time but not until i screamed into your ear" Hanna spoke up at stared at Nira in the eye.

"Okay, i am sorry for that 'incident' that i had to keep you waiting, but didn't you see that he was so cute?!"

"Only for you. Besides, i'm into girls."

Hanna excused herself and went to the other corner of the venue to get more wine to sip.

Nira rolled her eyes in irritation — or more like in desolation thinking that the possibility of seeing the elevator guy again is less than impossible.

"You should stop thinking about him though." Hanna offered her a glass of wine which Nira, was kind of hesitant to accept but did anyway.

"Be like the other hard to get girls because you don't know what lies behind someone's 'handsome' face, and what if he has a bad record?"

Nira was kind of displeased knowing that her best friend doesn't wanna give her hope about her love at first sight — or was she offended because Hanna doesn't find the guy handsome?

And what's up with the love at first sight? Is she really in love with a person she barely know?

"But what if he doesn't?" She firmly said making Hanna feel pity for her.

Even though Hanna was sympathetic, she still doesn't want to hold the words she wanna say in order to challenge the older.

"I didn't know you're the type of person to fall that easily."

Those words entered in Nari's head faster than light.

She was slightly offended but tried to accept the latter's harsh or as she call it,  'joking' words.

She tries to distract herself by constantly sipping the wine while digging up words from her head in order to reply to the other person across her.

"Well, i didn't know either."

Words like that escaped her lips before she even realized that it was the dumbest response she could think of.

She heard Hanna let out a soft chuckle which made her feel like more of a fool.

"That's something you should work on, Eonni."

Hanna slightly pat her shoulder before waving a 'good' bye while making her way into the crowd.
