To reiterate, Izuku hated becoming aware half-way through an activity. He found himself mid stride, the usual dizziness and confusion causing him to trip and sending him slamming to the floor where his chin scraped across gravel.
"Holy shit!" Hands gripped his shoulders firmly, helping him to sit up and tilting his head back to presumably assess the damage. "Gonna have one heck of a road rash, the fuck happened? You just ate shit out of nowhere!"
"K-kacchan?" The green haired boy groaned, squeezing his eyes together tightly to stop the nauseating blur the world had become.
"Who the fuck else? Finally back?""Uh," he groaned, rubbing his chin gingerly. "Y-yeah, I don't k-know what ha-happened there." Looking up at the blonde, Izuku was startled to see his face twisted in exasperation.
"You don't have to pretend D-nerd, I know." Green eyes narrowed in confusion.
"Know what?"Kacchan rolled his eyes so hard that for a moment Izuku was worried he would pull something, and helped the smaller boy stand; only letting go after making sure he had his balance.
"C'mon, I know about Yoi, you don't have to pretend anymore shithead."'That did not make me any less confused.'
"W-who?"
"Eh? What-" Red eyes scanned his face before widening in shock, "Wait, wait a goddamn minute! You don't know?" Irritation flared in Izuku's stomach, bubbling unpleasantly.
"Don't know what? What are you going on about Kacchan?" The blonde turned away, pacing back and forth as he ran his hands through his hair in violent jerking motions. After a few turns, he stopped, hand held out, palm down, as if he could pause everything going on around him.
"Right, ok, I can explain this without being an asshole," he glared at Izuku's accidental snort, "I can."Kacchan took a deep breath, unsettling Izuku at the sudden seriousness exuding from his frenemy.
"Ok, so, do you remember showing up this morning?" Brow still furrowed in confusion, the green haired boy shook his head, eyes never leaving the muscled frame before him. "Ok, well, you did obviously, but it wasn't you.""Wasn't-? Kacchan w-what-?"
"It was some extra called Yoi, he was controlling your body."
Izuku's stomach dropped so fast it physically hurt.
"W-what!" He yelped, hands roaming his body as if he could feel a difference.
"Calm down! He's you!"Error 404, file not found.
What?
"What the hell Kacchan? How is he me? I'm me! My name isn't Yoi, I don't remember, is it someone's quirk? OhmygoshwhatishedoingwithmybodywhileIcan'tremember?"
He was freaking out, completely drowning in his spiraling thoughts as they raced around his skull like the world's fastest ping-pong match. How could Yoi be him without being him? How does he have someone else in his body in the first place? Is that why he wakes up in places he never remembered going to? It would make sense, as much as he was loathe to admit it.
Wide, misty green eyes gazed unseeing at chunky red shoes, flicking side to side as they followed his thoughts.
/You need to calm down, breathe slowly Izuku./
Oh, he was so stupid! It was literally right there, he spoke to the voice every-goddamned-day!
'You are Yoi, aren't you?' Even his mental voice sounded exhausted.
"Oi, nerd, you good? Can you hear me?"/I am they,/ Yoi replied, voice hesitant, /I'm sorry you found out this way, I really am but Bakugou noticed, I had to explain to avoid being exploded./ Well, he couldn't hold that against him.
Vaguely he felt hands on his shoulders.
"Deku? Oi!"
