It had already been about a year since the first sexual encounter between Jean and Pieck. It was still a secret from the rest of the group and their relationship was nothing more than friendship with sexual benefits. Jean was happy with it, but he wanted something more, to be honest.

Right now they were once again staying at the same luxury hotel where they opened up and got to know each other better at that mini bar drinking alcohol.

There was background music and there were couples dancing slowly in the middle of the room, including Armin and Annie. Jean and Pieck were sitting at the bar drinking something and watching them dance as they talked.

"Would you like to dance?" he asked.

"Not really, I'm sorry" she replied. "Don't take it personally, it's just not my thing"

"Okay" he said, trying to hide how embarrassed he felt about his blunder.

"They look very happy" she said, changing the subject and looking at the blonde couple, saying it happily but at the same time a little sadness, perhaps even a little enviously, "I'm very happy for them," she said as they watched them and brought the glass to her lips to give her a drink.

"Yes..." he said while also looking at them, agreeing with her, because she was right as always. "You and I could have the same thing, if you wanted" he dared to say at last, turning to look at her. Pieck was a little surprised and looked at him too.

"Jean..." She sighed deeply. "I don't want more than we already have, I can't, it's impossible for me"

"Why?" he asked.

"...Because I haven't gotten over certain things"

"It's been a long time since his death, and I'm sure he would want you to move on, being happy with other person"

"Saying it is very easy. Not only he was my boyfriend, Jean, he was also my best friend, and since childhood. I can't feel anything for anyone, and believe me I want to, but I just can't, I don't feel anything for anyone. Also, I think you should offer this proposal to another girl and not me, you know who"

"But Pieck I l-"

"Leave it please, don't insist, don't make this more difficult, okay?" She said getting up and leaving, probably to her room to sleep, and leaving him there alone with the word in his mouth.

Author's note:

Well, they don't slowly dance but it's mentioned 🥴 I thought about them slowly dancing of course, but I don't think Pieck would accept, as you had seen here.

And I think this is the end of this little story. The next chapters are going to be about a Modern AU, and maybe they're going to be connected too, who knows. Hope you all enjoyed this little post-canon story!
