The groups eventually merged into a larger one, forming new close friendships and more, as in the case of Ymir and Historia, Connie and Sasha, Armin and Annie, and Jean and Pieck.
Jean was the one who confessed and asked Pieck out, and she agreed. They had been in a relationship for a long time and knew their parents, but their parents did not know each other, and their relationship was formal and with a view to the future, so it was about time they met. Both organized a meal at Jean's house for them to get to know each other.
Jean's mom was very very excited. Pieck seemed like a great girl for her son, as she was beautiful, smart and kind, and her son seemed very happy with her, so obviously she was happy too. Also, meeting her father was a huge step forward for their relationship and she knew it very good.
Jean asked her parents, but especially her mother, to behave and please not make a fool of themselves or him, which he had already asked when they met Pieck.
When a mobile notification rang (which he instantly knew was from Pieck because it had a special ringtone for her) and a second later the doorbell rang, he panicked. The time had come.
He went to open the door and his parents followed him. He opened the door and welcomed them both, squeezing his father-in-law's hand and kissing his girlfriend on the cheek (although he would have preferred on the lips, but he was too embarrassed to do it in front of his parents and especially his father-in-law). There were a couple more handshakes and cheek kisses.
Pieck and his father brought a biscuit he made for the afternoon tea, as a gift to the Kristein family, since they went to the trouble of doing the cooking. Jean's mother insisted that it wasn't necessary and that it sure was delicious.
Jean helped serve the food with her mother, and Pieck wanted to help too, although her mother-in-law insisted that she didn't need to worry, while the two parents talked at the table.
The food went well, luckily for the couple. His parents behaved and got along well, apart from that all the food was delicious.
