I continue to walk down the dimly lit hallway with Jake, us not speaking a word. I was already told that today would be my first day of 'work'. I'm not sure what its gonna be exactly, but I do know that it's gonna fucking suck. We start heading down another hallway after entering a door at the end the first hallway. As we walk, we pass by a few different people. Some looked as if they were part of whatever 'gang' type thing this was, and the other people looked they were in my situation. They had a disheveled look to them. They had messy, unbrushed hair, their cloths were wrinkled, and dirty. They looked like they hadn't showered in maybe a week or so. They all looked misreable, and tired. They had eyebags, and looked very thin. Like, unhealthly thin. Most of them were bruised. The others however, were well-dressed, it looked like they slept well, and they had a good, and healthy routine. It looked like they ate well, and they were in great shape.

We continued our walk until we arrived at a door. Jake knocked on it and waited for an answer. When he received it, he opened it, and shoving me a little inside, and he shut the door behind me. I recognized this room as the room I had had met that man in. Damian was it?

I noticed him in the corner, either on a new phone call, or still on the same one. Either way, he didn't look happy.

"I don't give a shit, she isn't just your daughter! She's mine too! I have a right to see her!" He growled, turning around, looking at me. My instincts told me to keep quiet, but curiosity was also telling me to question him.

I ignored the thoughts and he angrily hung up the phone after about a minute.

"Fucking bitch." He grumbled, crossing his arms like some 14 year old that just got in trouble.

I didn't want to do anything that might piss him off, so I stayed silent, avoiding his gaze.

"Alight," he said, grabbing my atention. "So you're probably gonna start off easy, since you've just arrived here, and you're probably not gonna do much right at first, but trust me, you'll learn to listen, one way or another."

I gulped at that last part.

What even is this?

Some mafia gang type shit?

I really hope its not.

They usually hurt people for the fun of it. They enjoy seeing people suffer. They enjoy giving pain to other people.

"You understand me?" I heard him say, his voice, surprisingly, not as... frustrated.

I nodded.

"Good. Now, follow me." He said, using to fingers to gesture for me to come with him.

I followed him and we went through a different door in his office, which was accross the room from the entrance door. As we walked in the new room, I looked at my surroundings. It was a pretty large room, with grey walls, and a cement floor. At the far end of the room was a window, and under that was a large bed, with light grey-blue sheets, and blankets, as well as matching pillows. There was grey carpets along the side if the bed, and dark brown headbroard, which matched the two nightstands on the side. The room was really well kept and was pretty empy besides a few desks, as well as a closet nearby the bed. As I was looking around, I saw Damian pass me, adjusting his jacket.

"This is basically my bedroom. All I really need you to do, is keep it clean. Other than that, you shouldn't have to much to do today..." he seemed to trail off a bit. "Oh, fuck! I totally forgot about something. You stay here and just wait for me to get back." He looked towards the door, then back at me. "Don't touch anything." He said, to which I nodded at him. He jogged his way out the door we came through, shutting it behind him.
