I shrank into the wall, I had only met a few boys in my life, all of them had been trying to run and I had seen all their blood add to the floor's red color. I sucked in a breath trying to melt into the walls, they seemed unconscious but I was still going to be wary. The ground began to move under me and I felt the ship rise, taking me away from the only place I had ever known. But they weren't taking me away from my home, no, I didn't have a home.

As we were taken away one of the boys stirred. I looked back at the other girl, her eyes were teary and she was staring right at the boys as if they would attack her.

I watched as he sat up looking dazed. He turned til he saw the other boy. As soon as he saw them he tried to crawl over to him but stopped, crying out in pain. His foot flopped to the floor. Tenderly he took off his shoe wincing in pain and exposing a blood soaked sock. He pulled the bloody sock off dropping it to the floor, his crimson blood began flowing onto the floor. His foot didn't look right, it looked broken.

Through all off this he still hadn't noticed us. As he pushed his hands over the wound trying to stop the flow I knew he would die if some one didn't come. I stood up one shaky feet and, using the walls to balance, made my way over to him.

"Do, do you need help?" I asked my voice strange, I hadn't used it for years and it was out of use, I was amazed I could even form the words.

The boy staggered back surprised at the sight of me.

"Who are you?" His voice was deep.

"I-I don't have a name," I told him, angry at myself for stuttering.

He frowned wincing as he put his hands back on his ankle.

"Who is the other boy?" I asked, feeling it only fair that if he asked me a question I could ask him one.

"I don't know." He responded. "We were bought together, then we decided to try running. The aliens don't like that." I looked over at his companion, and began walking over to him, holding the wall to stay balanced again. I crouched beside him, looking for wounds. I saw some scrapes but nothing too big, until I looked at his head. There was a huge gash, oozing blood. The metallic smell hit me and I almost gagged. I had seen more blood in the cells, but I had never been this close to the body.

"What do we do?" I asked the other boy.

"We have to apply pressure to stop the bleeding," I heard a soft voice say. I turned looking for the owner of that voice, it was the other girl. She had walked over til she was beside me. The conscious boy took off his shirt pressing it to the wound and lessening the blood.

As soon as the bleeding stopped he tied it around his head tightly.

"How did you know to do that?" I asked her after we had made sure he would be okay.

"When I was in the cell," She paused swallowing. "There was a girl on the other side of my wall, she would talk to me when the guards weren't there. One day they came while she was talking. T-they took her out," She paused again holding back tears. "And killed her. But they didn't do it quickly, no, they tortured her. Day after day they would come, but leave her, barely breathing. She took a blow to the head one day, it sliced her forehead open. She took her shirt off and used it to stop the bleeding, I have remembered it ever since." She finish her story a sat in silence.

When I brought my head up I saw the boy, he was sitting in silence, back hunched. He had been listening too.

There was a jolt as the ship landed. We were about to meet our new master. The door opened silently and the alien who had bought us motioned us out. The boy lifted his companion up and began walking unsteadily out into the bright light that now streamed in. I staggered out with the other girl beside me.

When I stepped out I was temporarily blinded by the sun. It was bright, brighter than the ship had been. My eyes took a moment to adjust but when they did I spotted an alien. He was not the one who had motioned us out but a different one. He stood straight backed and expressionless. The air around him seemed to vibrate with fear, but in it a sense of awe as it looking at someone of great importance.

He stood there looking us over for what seemed like years but could have only been minutes. When he finally spoke his voice was deep and had authority in it, but there was also the slight hint of a smile on his lips.

"Quite the group you have brought me, Meriche,"
