After The Art Show

(this one shot takes place in next week's episode after the art show. I know so many of us, me included, want to see the writers so a callback for Liv as far as her art goes and we want to see them bring it back along with other hobbies of hers and just delve into her more as a person)

The night had fallen and it had been a couple of hours after the art show had ended and everyone separated to their own doings. Spencer was outside the beach house on the patio, doing his nightly meditation when Liv came over. She had already let him know that she was coming over.

Liv softly knocked on the patio door as she softly said "Hey babe, sorry if I'm interrupting." "Oh nah, I was about to be done anyways," Spencer said as he got up with a smile on his face and greeted her with a kiss. Seeing Liv was always a highlight to his day. "What's up ?", Spencer added. "After seeing the art show and how beautiful and fulfilling it was, it inspired me to finish something special that I've actually been working on for a hot minute," Liv said with a shy smile. "Does this 'something special' have anything to do with me ?" Spencer teased with a smirk as Liv rolled her eyes playfully. "Don't flatter yourself," Liv said jokingly as she put her hand over his eyes. "Just close your damn eyes and keep 'em closed," Liv said with a laugh as she went and got her present that she hid near the front door. "You're still here, right ?," Spencer said as he stood in the same spot with his eyes closed. "Yes I am and.....now you can open your eyes," Liv said as she held up a huge painting.

The painting was of him in his GAU uniform and him running through the tunnel before a game and you could see everyone, including Liv, supporting him and cheering him on. Spencer opened his eyes and was automatically enamored with her painting. No had ever given him a gift like this before, something that was so personal. Everything about the painting was just right and wonderful and he was touched by it.

"Now, I wanted to wait to give this to you later on like on your birthday or our anniversary, which is probably why I hadn't finished it, but with being inspired by the art show and the first game coming soon anyways, I thought it was good timing," Olivia said a bit nervously. She wanted the painting to be perfect and she hoped that it was.

"Look, I know how frustrated you've been with your college football journey. You're putting in so much work and feel like no matter what you do, nothing is turning around for you and you've been feeling defeated. But, throughout all the noise, they get it's that annoying ass coach of yours or you being way too hard on yourself and getting in your head or literally anything else, I don't want you to forget why you're doing this. You're doing this because you love it and it's what you want to do. Also, remember that you have a whole village of people supporting you, especially me and want nothing but the best for you, and to also know that your hard work is gonna pay off in the best way and you're already finding your way," Liv said encouragingly as she looked deeply in his eyes.

She had been seeing on how hard of a toll the D1 experience has been on Spencer and it crushed her. She hated that he was putting so much pressure on himself. She knew how easy it was to lose sight of why you're in something because of obstacles and she wanted him to remember that even within the obstacles, the reward at the end is so worth it and that he deserved it.

As she was talking, Spencer was listening intently as he kept looking at the gorgeous painting. Everyday, he thought that he couldn't love Liv any more than he already did, but she would always prove him wrong and he would fall even more in love with her. With the painting and the words that he didn't know that he needed to hear but subconsciously did, he was just taking it all in.

"Liv, I honestly don't even know what to say but this is just the best gift anyone ever given me," Spencer said with a smile.

"It has been a really tough ride so far, but I'm learning how to handle it better and approach it differently, you don't gotta worry about that," Spencer said reassuringly.

"Just please don't forget to take care of yourself and look after yourself all while putting in all of your hard work. I know how mentally taxing it could be and is and I don't want you to not prioritize that as well," Liv said as she rubbed her hand on the back of his head.

"Don't worry, I won't," Spencer responded.

"I love you, babe and I'm proud of you," Liv said sweetly before giving him a kiss. "I love you too," Spencer responded.

"But seriously though, how do you like the painting ?" Liv asked.

"I don't just like it, I really love it," Spencer said as he was still in awe with the painting. "Thank you so much for doing this for me," Spencer added.

"To be honest, I forgot you even dabbled in art," Spencer said with a small laugh.

Liv chuckled as she said," I haven't drawn in a little bit but don't ever forget how much I love the arts."

"I'm a woman of many talents, from me being a kick ass artist and a kick ass dancer and about to be a kick ass journalist," Liv said confidently as she winked.

Liv used to not see her own potential or what she brought to the table, but nowadays, especially within this year, she was starting to fully recognize all of her good parts instead of just her bad parts and uplifted herself that much more and Spencer loved seeing every second of it.

"It's your world and I'm just living in it," Spencer added.

"Now, while I'm here, why don't we go up to your room, hang up your new painting, and then, enjoy the rest of our night," Liv said as she slowly started going up the stairs.

"Oh you ain't gotta tell me twice," Spencer said as they both giggled and ran up the stairs.
