-Recap-

"Now Shin-san I believe it would be better if you leave to your own room, and allow me to comfort him." Y/n offered with a smile that sent shivers down the old hashira's spines.

"Whatever."

As Shinjuro left, Y/n turned her attention to the weakened demon slayer. Sighing, she carried the male towards his room. Upon entering, her eyes landed on many martial arts related posters and shelves full of books. In the centre of the room was a futon. As Y/n walked towards the futon she wouldn't help but stare at the room around her.

Laying the injured boy onto his futon, Y/n stared at him for a while. "You shouldn't have said that you know. I'm pretty sure you are aware of your father's temper."

"Y-yeah" Muttered Rengoku before coughing a few times due to his sore throat. Turning around Y/n left to go find water for the male. Once she found a cup, she returned to his side.

"Here, drink some water. It'll help you ease the pain a little." As she said this, Y/n handed Kyojuro a cup of water. "Thank you."

Taking a sip of the water, Kyojuro felt the cold liquid slowly go down his throat. Sitting up, he looked at Y/n before looking down and holding his hands. "Y/n..." Catching the girl's attention, Y/n sat patiently looked at the boy waiting for him to continue.

"I want to apologise for my outburst earlier. I shouldn't have said those things, and that was a very bad first impression from me." Said Kyojuro sincerely as he chuckled a little at the end.

Y/n could only nod as she was not quite sure what she should do in this type of situation. Looking at Kyojuro again, some things started to catch her attention.

His situation. It was extremely familiar to her own in her previous life. Looking into the male's eyes, she could see how hurt he was. The need for attention and the desire to be noticed was driving him off of the edge. 'How similar we are Kyojuro Rengoku...'

"It's alright to let your feelings out sometimes. No one is born perfect and in the end, we are all just human." Turning her attention back at the male, Y/n looked him dead in the eye. "If you can't find a person to trust. Let me be the person you can trust?" Muttered Y/n as her comment seemed out of the blue. However, truthfully it was something that Rengoku needed to hear.

"Live for me. If you find no other drive to continue now or even in the future, allow me to be the reason for you to continue fighting." Opening her arms, Y/n motioned Kyojuro to lean in and hug her. Tears streamed down his face as he finally collapsed into Y/n's arms.

"I-I can't do this anymore Y/n. Everyday, I feel like I'm just drowning further and deeper into this pit, because... of this pressure and the expectations. I-It's just too stressful for me, but if I abandon everything, I would just be selfish and become no better than my father..." Compained Rengoku as he muffled his words while cried into Y/n shoulder.

"F-Father doesn't care about us at all. All he does everyday is drink sake and throw insults at everyone."

"Senjuro... he is still young, and he needs a father figure more than ever. I just can't." Sprouted Kyojuro as he continued to rant and call out his frustrations while tears streamed down his face.

Reaching up to his head, Y/n placed her hand on the boy's head patting him. "You know..." There was a small pause as the male in her arms listened to her heart beating for a sense of comfort.
