A burnt smell came from the kitchen, and John heard Sherlock swearing. It was John's birthday, and obviously Sherlock had tried to bake him a cake, but failed. John got up from bed, to go and help Sherlock.
When John entered the kitchen, it was covered in floor, and Sherlock had spilled eggs everywhere. The bowl of sugar was turned upside down, and all the sugar was spread on the table. John thought to himself that it would be a lot of cleaning up, but he didn't say anything.
Sherlock looked at John and said "I tried baking you a cake." John sighted, but smiled. He could see that. "It's just like science, I don't know what went wrong." Sherlock said, looking disappointed. John laughed, assuring him it was perfectly fine.
The cake tasted horrible, but John pretended he liked it, because he didn't want to let Sherlock down. "I really do have a talented boyfriend" John said, and smiled. "Yes, but it just so happens that baking is not one of my qualities." Sherlock answered. John nodded in agreement.
