kalarnie watched tommy jump on his bus and soon jumped onto hers.

"you okay, kalarnie?" kyle asked, sliding into the seat infront of her. nobody really jumped on this one as it was the late one. it just went around town and then, it would finally started dropping people off.

"i can't read him." "read... who?" she sighed and ruffled her hair.

"tommy." "that blonde kid? you want to know more about him?" kyle quizzed, resting his forearms on the seat top.

kalarnie nodded. "he's a good guy, i do just want to know more about him, yeah."

kyle watched the other bus drive off. "isn't he from that real preppy school a building over? why would you care?"

"he's my friend, kyle." kyle nodded as they conversed more.

"and then they were roommates." kalarnie explained as they got off at their stop.

"that's weird. huh. anyway, see ya." kyle waved, a little more rushed. he walked off and kalarnie just stared at him, not knowing why he's in a hurry.

she heard her phone ping and opened it to check it.

tommy :)

you alright?

kalarnie laughed to herself as she tapped away at a reply.

yeah, best friend is acting proper weird. how'd you know i was feeling down?

look up.

kalarnie switched off her phone and turned her gaze down the street and saw the uniformed boy waving. before she could approach, she saw a fan come up to him. the two took a few pictures and kalarnie took that as her cue, watching the girl walk away.

"how come you never told me your bus stopped a bit from my stop?" she quizzed. tommy looked down at her and laughed.

"because it seems that i found out just now, didn't i? anyway, wanna grab a bite to eat?" kalarnie thought for a second.

checking the time, she nodded and grinned. "i would love nothing more, tommy."

--

"i think you would suit red hair." kalarnie smiled, eating another chip. the bag of chicken flavoured chips crinkled slightly.

tommy scoffed, taking a sip of monster. "definitely not, kalarnie. i prefer my sexy blonde locks." this made kalarnie snort.

"sexy is a bit of an exaggeration, right?" "absolutely not." the two started laughing, attracting stares.

a text on tommy's phone broke the two from the happy mood they were in. tommy stood up and placed his hands on the table.

"you alright?" she asked, confused at why he just stood up.

"i gotta go. here." tommy slid a twenty pound note towards his crush and kalarnie just stared as he walked off.

he didn't have to pay her. why did he pay her?

kalarnie stood up as she sipped on her drink, watching tommy walk off.

she stood there for a good minute before walking home, a little unimpressed with her afternoon.

hopefully, as tomorrow is a saturday, she could have a break from everyone just up and leaving.
