I'm so stupid, I'm so stupid, I cursed myself as I blushed and stared wide-eyed at Jasper, who'd been inside here - and by the looks of it, had been changing.
No, of course, he wasn't naked or anything and that's a good thing. He was just shirtless - he'd removed the white shirt he had been wearing till now and a red sweater was sprawled on the bed, ready to be worn, while he was gradually pulling a black vest over himself.
I'm seriously starting to think that he has some sort of addiction to wearing sweaters. Whoever wears such stuff even during summer time? Monsoon is slowly coming in, okay, but even then it's quite warm and humid outside. He must be crazy to wear sweaters during this boiling weather.
His side was turned towards me, and now, not only his biceps were showing, his chest muscles were clearly visible as well. He hadn't seen me yet, but me, being dumb as always, kept staring stupidly instead of backing away instantly and closing the door as it had been kept before. When I finally started to gain my senses one by one, he turned his head.
And he saw me.
Upon realizing my presence, he quickly pulled his vest down completely and frowned at me.
"Geez, June, first you barge into the room when I'm changing, and now -," he paused, shrugging, "- you're staring."
I wish I could just die at this moment.
I shook my head suddenly and tried not to glance at his muscles as I laughed nervously, "N-no, of course I wasn't staring."
I guess the lying techniques aren't working for me, again.
He smirked, approaching me and folding his arms across his chest, "Really?"
"Yeah, no," I muttered, rubbing my sweaty palms on my overalls as a distraction, trying to ignore the fact that he was closer to me and I was trying so hard to stop myself from looking at his physique. The vest exposed his muscles really well. "It's - just - I was surprised for a second.
"Fine, but you were the one holding a speech about breaking in someone's room just moments ago, remember?" He asked, "and now, you did the exact same thing."
Uh, technically, he was changing in my room and I didn't know he was here. Plus, the door was kept ajar, I forgot for a second that I'd kept it open before because of the thoughts filling my mind. Not my fault.
And mainly, I didn't break the damn doorknob when I walked in.
"I didn't know that you were in here, okay, I didn't notice it," I rolled my eyes, desperately wanting to change the subject or go back in time to change this situation. Except that I was able to get a clear sight of his muscles and see him shirtless, everything else about this sucks.
Get a hold of yourself, you pervert!
"You did see that the door was kept ajar, right?" He questioned, making me frown. Did he still not believe me? Ugh. It's so difficult to make him believe me - either it's him who's hard to convince or it's me who sucks at convincing people. Why does he not trust me? Would I really barge in like that if I wanted a view?
"I did not," I answered firmly, "Believe me or not, I don't care. What do you think? That I wanted to get a glance at you while you're changing?"
"Not impossible," he shrugged. I gasped and hit his shoulder, "Jerk!"
I turned around and slammed the door shut, though obviously, it swung open again. With a sour expression on my face, I sat down on the couch, huffing and sending a lock of my hair flying. Why can't he just believe me instead of questioning me and making me embarrassed as heck? Of course I didn't walk in on him on purpose, I had just been lost in too much thoughts. Yes, I did stare at him for a few milliseconds, but any one would do that, at least subconsciously. Besides, I'd been partly shocked to walk away right then.
