The past few weeks had been like a fever dream.  Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined how soft and sweet Emily Prentiss could be.  It was a pleasant surprise.  I loved the soft kisses to my temple or cheek and the times she'd sneak an arm around my waist.  Though I wished we didn't have to keep us a secret, I understood why we needed to.  If Aaron fired her for this, I'd never see her.

However, keeping things quiet made things difficult when planning a birthday present for her.  For me to go out anywhere was a huge ordeal and required many people to know and plan the event.  Taking Emily out for her birthday was completely off the table.  But I wanted to do something special.  She deserved that and more.

I thought of the places I was allowed to go with minimal fuss.  I sat down with Aaron and told him I needed time away.  I asked if I could go to Camp David, the secluded, tranquil mountain cabin for the President.  He told me I could go on one condition: like in the residence, Emily had to stay inside for safety.  I internally smirked.  That wouldn't be a problem at all.  I was thankful her birthday fell on a Sunday this year; it would make our weekend retreat all the more special.

We arrived on Friday evening, exited to be a couple outside the residence.  I changed into more casual clothes, threw my hair up, and started pulling things out in the kitchen to cook for dinner.   The music was loud, just as I liked it, and fun.  I danced around, spoon in hand, surely flinging drops of sauce on the floor and counters.  I couldn't bring myself to care about the mess today.   She sat on the island counter, watching me with a smirk.

"What?" I asked, knowing how amusing she found it when I danced around like this.

"You're just cute is all," she responded.

I moved in between her legs.  She was already so much taller than me standing, I didn't have a hope of reaching her lips with her sitting up on the counter.  "A kiss for the cute chef," I requested.

She immediately obliged, leaning down to capture my lips.  I rested my hands on her thighs, moving them up and down.  She hummed against my mouth.  "If you don't cut it out, I'm going to distract you and let you burn dinner."  I smiled into her kiss.

"That would be tragic, Em.  It's not like we can order pizza way out here."  I moved away from her and grabbed my wine.  "Okay, no burning dinner."  I stirred the sauce.  When it was finished, I plated everything and handed her one.

"Watch a movie with me?" she asked.

"As if I would say no to the birthday girl," I teased.

"Hm, that's good to know," she smirked.  She led me over to the couch, flipping the TV on.  I relaxed into her side, content that we could have a night almost like a normal couple.

Throughout the movie, I felt Emily's eyes burning into the side of my face.  "It was YOUR idea to watch a movie, you know."

"I found something far more interesting to watch," she teased, moving her hand up my thigh.  I looked up at her through lustful eyes.  She leaned down to kiss me softly.  I cupped her face, always amazed at how soft her skin was.  She leaned me back until she hovered over me on the couch.  Her hand gripped my hip tightly.
