Her unconscious body sits bound to the chair, with no hope of wriggling free. One moment she was walking to her car, the next being stuffed into a van with a bag over her head. Sitting around her were 3 hooded figures. Candles flicker in front of each of them. She could smell the scent of vanilla as she lingered into consciousness. Her eyelids lay heavy over her eyes, but she manages to pull them open with an effort. As her eyes adjusted to the darkness she saw a shadowy figure in front of her. It looked like they were holding something in their hands but she couldn't make out the object or the person. Then...SLAM...the sound of a large book closing made her flinch. A deep and gritty laugh came from behind the shadow as the figure stepped out of the shadows and into the candlelight.

"Brendon?" the girl asked.

"Hello, Miss Jackson. Long time no see."

"It'll be so much fun, C'mon!" Nicole said nagging.

"I told you, I have to work tomorrow, I can't go clubbing tonight," Sarah said.

"You're so lame."

Sarah flashed a smile to Nicole as she turned to walk out the door. They had been friends since high school, and now that they had both graduated college they are roommates. Their small apartment is located just outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. Nicole has always been more of a party animal than Sarah, but they usually go clubbing together every Saturday. Sarah's recent job has prevented that from happening, though. The door swings open suddenly as Sarah turns in her head to see what's going on.

"I forgot my purse," Nicole says as she enters their apartment.

"No worries"

"Are you sure you don't want to come with me?" Nicole says standing in the doorway.

Sarah lets out a deep sigh. "Fine. give me five minutes."

"Yes! I knew I would convince you," Nicole says.

"You didn't convince me of anything. It's a long boring night of watching tv alone that convinced me!" Sarah shouts from their shared bathroom.

"Whatever!"

Five minutes later, Sarah emerged from the bedroom looking like she spent 3 hours getting ready.

"How do you do that?" Nicole asks.

"Do what?"

"Take 5 minutes getting ready and look like you spent a whole day at a boutique,"

"Witchcraft." Sarah jokes as her eyes widen.

"I'd believe it" Nicole replies.

The girls laugh and rush out the door. They stumble down the hallway and into the elevator. There's another guy in the elevator. He has dark brown hair and piercing brown eyes. When the elevator doors open Sarah and Nicole head for the front doors. The mystery man follows them and holds the door open. As the girls start walking down the street, they notice the man walking in the same direction. He catches up to them at a light and makes eye contact with Sarah. Sarah quickly looks down, as does the mystery man. Finally, he speaks.

"I know it seems like I'm following you, but I promise I'm not." He says with a chuckle.

Sarah glances at him and then at Nicole who looks unamused by this stranger. There's an awkward silence and then the light turns red. The girls cross the street as the man walks ahead of them. The club they are going to is just down the street from their apartment building. As they approach the club, the man turns into the entrance.

"Oh no, are we gonna have to ignore him the whole night now?" Nicole sighs.

"No" Sarah responds as she swats the air, "Let's just not think about him and enjoy our night. He seemed harmless anyway."

"If you say so."

With that, they enter the club. It's still very early in the evening so the place is fairly quiet except for the few people setting up the stage. All of the music at this club is performed live, but on occasion, they hire a DJ for nights they can't find someone to play. It's also never a very busy club seeing as it's kind of tucked away between a few other buildings. Despite this, about 15 minutes later, the bar is packed full of anxious people.

"What is going on? It's not usually this busy in here." Nicole mentions.

"I don't know, maybe they got someone famous to come to play tonight or something," Sarah said staring into space. She couldn't stop thinking about the guy they saw earlier. There's something familiar about him, about his face, his voice. She couldn't place her finger on it, though.

Just then the stage lights went dark and everyone started cheering. As they were cheering a familiar song started playing. The notes triggered Sarah's memory and that's when she knew who he was. He wasn't just some random club goer.

"Oh my god," Sarah said with wide eyes, "We have to get out of here."

"What? Why?"

"Right now."

Sarah grabbed Nicole's arm just as the stage lights turned on. She turned her head to look at the stage just as Brendon's eyes landed on them. He smiled. Sarah turned her head back around and pulled Nicole behind her through the crowd.

"Dude, what the hell!" Nicole yelled as they exited the club

"I can't believe I was so stupid," Sarah said to no one in particular. "That's Brendon Urie!"

"Brendon who now?"

"Brendon Urie. The lead singer of Panic! at the Disco."

"Okay, so why did you drag us out of there? Don't you want to see him perform?" Nicole asks.

Sarah remains silent while searching for an answer to the question. "I-I don't know," she stutters.

"Well I'm going back in there whether you come with me or not," Nicole said with a slight annoyance in her voice. And just like that Sarah was standing alone in the middle of the sidewalk. Why did she feel the need to leave so suddenly? Even she didn't know. Sarah had no explanation for how she felt when Brendon looked at her. Despite these feelings, she re-entered the club and found a spot next to Nicole.

"I'm glad you changed your mind"
