The day had started like any other

The show that night had gone great

And the entire band was ready for another

Sadly the rest would never come along

For tragedy had struck that night

Shortly after the last song

The band had retired back to the hotel

To separate rooms, they all headed

But for an unknown reason Ryan had felt unwell

He seemed giddy and crazy

Not too unlike his normal self, however

Something was different

his eyes seemed hazy

Brendon heard a crash

One room over

He went over to check and Ryan's arm had a huge gash

Broken glass layed on the floor

And water soaked through the carpet

As Ryan stood at the windowsill

Holding a bouquet in his fist

Brendon rushed to Ryan not bothering to close the door

Ryan was gone

His body was there

but his mind was no longer

There was little Brendon could do

As Ryan stood staring

out the window now opened

He stared for a moment

A smile plastered on his perfect face

"Look at those flowers" he said

He longed to be near them

To return those in his hand

To their family

He knew the quickest route

Was where he was looking

He moved his feet up to the ledge

Brendon acted quickly

grabbing his hand and turning him around

Brendon's face displayed confusion and fright

He looked into Ryan's eyes searching for light

But he was empty

"Do you want to see the flowers too?"

Brendon shook his head

Denying the offer

He yanked Ryan's hand,

Begging for him to get off of the ledge.

And in that moment of eye contact

Ryan returned.

Brendon saw the light return

as Ryan's face fell...

And so did he...

It wasn't Ryan's fault though

The rain had stolen his feet from under him

He held Brendon's hand

Grasping for dear life

But the rain stole that too

And Brendon looked down

As Ryan grew smaller

He fell into the flower bed

And almost made it, he almost did

But he wound up crossing over

Like many before him, his time was cut short

The time he had left would stand still

It would stay behind locked doors never to be seen

Because the only key was

Ryan

But Brendon's time would continue

As he stared at Ryan sleeping in the rain

He remembered

Brendon used to fly freely

And then Ryan was his map

That kept him focused and on track

With nothing to guide him

he wandered around

No destination in sight

His days became numbered and

And eventually ended

That's when he saw him

Ryan stepped forward with a smile on his face

His arms were outstretched asking for an embrace

"I'm sorry, Brendon," he said with a remorseful look

Brendon didn't have the words to respond

So he ran to Ryan

Ready for embrace
