««Morning at last, the sun rising maked the water of the bay look like liquid glass. Still in its serenity; the cold wind was starting to wake up from the night. As well as the dog hounds that broke the silence of peace.

I was laying in my bed that looking at the window only seem to be my attention. But then I saw a figure in the small balcony. It was a woman of skin as white as the clouds, a long brown maine covered her back. She was wrapped in blankets of the bed that made her femenine sensual gestures seem brought back to life. I got up and started to walk toward her but it was when she turned around that i knew that something was wrong.

She was bleeding from her chest, it was a big wound. Her eyes wereso calm and a smile came from the delicated cheeks until she started to lose balance and there I catch her with my arms but she was in pain, could not breath and started to faint. I felt a pain in the back of my head, so I pass my hand through it an in tears saw the blood comming from my face when....»»

I got up to find my self in a small room with no windows and a horrorific smell that made me sick. "It was a dream"I kept thinking, but what a terrible memory.

The sound of knocking in the door maked me aware of the time. It was not morning at all but noon of the next day.So I pick my pants and went straight to the door. Before I open it I made this ritual of putting my ear in it so to hear what was waiting out side. I could hear the sound of metal clicking with a high tone. "Probably the guy of the motel asking for rent since it seems that sound are his keys"... "Or a redcloak believing it could be his sword rubbing against the narrow side wall"

I decided to put the money I had by the small space between the door and the floor. But he did not seem to had picked it up. Instead I heared its footsteps heading away from the entrance down the hall. Slowly opening the door and making sure I made no noise I peek from it and found my money on the floor and a small paper folded in a formal way. I look around before picking it up for anything strange but there was nothing strange, lighters lighting postlamps, drinkers sleeping in the floor, and music comming out of bars. I picked it up finaly and the money too. When I open it there was a scription that goes like this:

To mister Elenor ,

The present is to make you a proposal of to and in which you would participate in order to Be, and stop being a servant of the randomness of your problems. In this request will be given the instructions to head out of town since we have a ship to put you on board and in command of.
If you accept you will not be killed in the proccess of boarding; we will expect you to be in the far south cliff on the bay. Yes there is a fort there but there wont meanwhile you are reaching it.
Singend,
B.B.

P.S. Look around, there is a package in which a tool will be of use.

I laugh out as loud as I had in years, this parrots did'nt knew who they where dealing with. I look around just make sure. And did found in fact a long envelope by the side of the small stairs that leaded to the street. When I picked it up I closed the door and quickly opened the envelope. I thought it was a prank of the kids in the streets but I was wrong.

It was a sword, in a metal that had strange markings in it. It look like a cutlass but lighter, actually it wasn't heavy at all. Strong grip made of clear red stone and flexible as well. I catch the grip with strong gestures and swing it around to see how it worked. I notice right away that what it was made was not metal; it made no noise, soundless. Swords make a shwush sound when cutting air or being drawn out of their covers but this one didn't. Never had I seem such a strange artefact.

Accidently while playing with it the grip cracked and the stone made a small but deep enough cut that I could bleed considerably. It hurt but it healed right before my eyes. I just couldn't be more amuse. Then I heared screamings out side the room but when I ran out side there was just a kid about as far I could see playing with dogs. But i was sure I heared that like if they where next to me in the room. Then I heared a sting noise going to and fro. I turned around and saw a small spider at the other across the street in a pole wrapping its pray with silk.

I droped the sword with out noticing it and suddently stop hearing all those new sounds. The sword made no noise when it touch the ground. I picked it up and heared even more strange noises. The hush of food being fried comming from the house in front of me, a couple in duty across the block and horse paws a about a half mile away in the bay running as usual. But then a strange voice, deep and rough bounced in the air.

" Cannos ready! Fire at the signal!"

Instantly I heared the blast and it was loud enough to make my insides rummble. I stop touching the sword by the grip and place it in the cover at my hips. I stop again to hear those assonances but right a second later an explosion had destroyed the house that I was staying. In shock I fell to my back and dodge the falling stones of what was left of the building. Then the next building crumble to peices and the next and so on. When I came to my senses I started running as fast as I could. I coul hear the whoosh of the cannon balls passing close to me from my back.

"Shit goddamit!!! What in the world is going on!!"

When I reached the plaza I saw the old church falling to the ground as well as the city hall and police quarters.

My old friend John could have been there I thought but there was not time to reach the place, in seconds it was turned into ashes and screams surrounded the streets. But then I remember the note.

"Right!, The south cliff is just a few hundread yards away"

So did that day I sprinted as fast as ever in my life. As I ran the burst of explosions kept increasing. A thick caoba tree was about to fall over me so instantly I drew the sword out of its cover and then the tree seemed funny. It was falling slowly as the wind swushh all around and I felted that as if I had to wait until it fell. So I moved away from it as it fell right at the other side around the corner of the plaza. People ran crying but they where moving so slow but so as everything else. I could see the cannon balls flying over our heads. One reached the liquor store and when it exploded I saw the wind trowing out the dust then the fire started to appear and then I the next thing I was flying across the street to the south and smoothly falling to the ground with bruteness but with no pain or burns. Got up from the soil and ran to the top of the cliff were now I could see that a ship had attacked the bay and was destroying it. An awfull view. The smoke blocked the sun and the ashes fell like rain and the red flames of hell rised against the port of Cuba. I drove the sword to its cover and started crying when then everything was brought to normal in a split of a second the time came back to even speed and the bay was soon consumed to dust. I fell unconcious from the three houndred feet cliff to the sea.
