I don't want to go back to college. I cant believe that I am already starting my third year in two days. I haven't even bought all the books yet. I lazily opened my eyes expecting for the sun to come in through my open windows. I held my arm up as a shield. After a couple seconds I noticed that the sun wasn't coming in like usual, instead I heard light pitter pattering on the roof of the little home. It must be raining outside again. I sat while I stretched and yawned. I sighed as I threw my feet of the bed, my toes barely stroking the ground. I put my whole weight onto my feet as they touched the cold hard wooden floor. I shivered as I tried to spot my bunny slippers. I looked around the room before crouching down to my knees. God it was a mess down here. I looked under my bed trying to see past all the junk I had under there. I stuck my arm in there feeling around. After a couple minutes, right when I was going to give up, my hand went over something soft. I tried to grab onto it but it moved. I froze hoping I had bumped into something that caused it. After a couple of seconds whatever was in my hand moved again which caused me to gasp in terror. A mouse sprinted out about three inches away from my body as it made its way out my open door. I screamed and jumped onto my bed, quickly putting my feet under me. A few seconds after the mouse turned the corner, Kate, my roommate, came rushing to my room, stopping at the doorway. Her brown eyes wide as she had her red hair in a tight bun and wore her fuzzy monkey pajamas.
"What's wrong! What happened?" She said looking around frantically for the cause of my pale face.
"We really need to get rid of the mice here Kate." I said still looking around expecting more to come out.
She laughed at this, showing her dimples, and bright teeth. "You scared me Brooke I thought something was seriously wrong." She said in between laughs.
I rolled my eyes. "It is serious Kate, I almost had a heart attack." I said holding my chest.
She soon disappeared out the doorway and into the hallway. I sighed in relief as I looked at the floor making sure I didn't step on anything on my way to the bathroom. I was so busy looking at the ground that on my way out the door, my left elbow hit the doorknob. I silently yelped in pain as I continued, this time paying more attention. As I got to the hallway I could smell bacon coming from the kitchen. I checked my phone and the time read 7:18am. I hurried to the bathroom. My feet were freezing. I didn't want to look for the slippers anymore. As I reached the doorway, I took in the sight that was in front of me. I spotted two empty toilet paper rolls on the floor by the trash can, makeup and straighteners by the sink, and the shower curtain was wide open revealing the empty containers. I made a face as I looked into the mirror. My green eyes looked kind of puffy with bags under them, my hair was sticking out of every place possible, and my baggy shirt torn a bit at the crease. I sighed as I began to put Kate's makeup away as I pulled mine out from under the counter. I opened up the foundation, applying it on my face. I don't know why but doing my makeup was just the best feeling. I felt very confident with myself. I then pressed my brush in the powder and gently dabbed it around my eyes, my forehead, and my cheeks. I made sure I hadn't put too much so that my face would look whiter than the rest of my body. I twisted the top of my eyeliner bottle off as I pulled out the stick slowly. I made my eye look kind of twitchy in order to still be able to see where I was coloring in. I stroked the brush side against my skin, sending shivers down my back. I flicked it upwards a little causing it to make kind of a cat look. Satisfied I continued to my other eye. As I proceeded to do the same, I flicked the brush a little too hard making it go higher than it was supposed to. I looked at my uneven eyeliner. I grabbed a wipe from the left and started to clean up the mess I made on my face. I wish applying makeup was as easy as they make it seem on movies. I also wished that we woke up like princesses did, because believe me, we don't. I think the actual realistic movie that shows girls how we wake up, is Frozen. I finished my eyeliner as I added some brown eye shadow and mascara completing my makeup.
I setup the straightener and curler on the floor of my room. I loved doing it here because of the giant sized mirror the same size as me. propped up against the wall. As I put the temperature, I headed to the kitchen to eat while it headed up. The walk was short, which I was very grateful because of my now freezing feet. I approached seeing the table set ahead of me. There were eggs, bacon, toast, and waffles set up in front of me. I loved the fact that Katie loved to cook. I was more of a baking person, I never really enjoyed dealing with pans and seasonings. I pulled up a chair, taking in the incredible smell of everything. I grabbed the fork that was by my plate and started picking one of each. The steam coming out of the food made my mouth water. I hadn't realized how hungry I was. Katie entered the kitchen and sat down across from me.
"Do you like the eggs? I made them with a different type of seasoning." She said with a big smile on her face.
I nodded, I really couldn't taste the difference but if it made her happy.
