"What's your name?" I asked the fledgling after I'd taken her into my apartment that I owned. "Please, come in. You may have determined by now you can't get into every building. Only publicly owned buildings can be accessed by a vampire. There's a lot you will need to know. As far as private homes, you need permission from the owner before you may enter. What's your name?" I asked again, very eager to teach her a thing or two about vampires. I didn't know what her sexuality was like, but she was perhaps even more beautiful than even Jess or Becks, so I would at the very least like to have her as company.
"Cronin, Hannah Cronin," she meekly replied.
"Hannah," I said, kindness in my eyes. "I'm going to teach you everything about vampirism," I told her, "first of all, your gaze into the eyes of a human forces them to comply with everything you tell them to do. You can just tell them to be calm, and your dinner won't yell and alert other people. How long have you been a vampire, Hannah?"
"A few weeks," she replied.
I took the opportunity to corrupt young Hannah. She had the looks of a teenager and the spirit of a toddler. She was so new to my world, and I would morph her into exactly what I wanted her to be.
She would become the leader of Lust Coven, as I would resurrect it. In order to rise from the ashes, it must have been said there will be some burning. And Tim, may he rest in hell, made sure my coven burned. In order to maintain his trust, I had to watch and even help the slaughter of over thousands of wolves, lycans and vampires.
Tim's lycan breed was like none other. They had this unreal healing ability. It was unlike anything I'd ever seen in wolves, vampires, or hybrids. While all three of these supernatural creatures heal incredibly quickly, it was nothing compared to how fast Tim's breed of lycans healed.
Lust Coven was reduced to nothing. It was obliterated. It was now an empty house with many ghosts, former people who couldn't go to heaven or hell, because they had unfinished business in this world.
The den aspect of Lust Coven disappeared, too. Once the mindless lycans saw the shift in power, they all dispersed into the North West region.
I could sense something powerful. What force could stand in my way now? I was power hungry, and I would control Wall Street. I had a fair amount of money, but I wanted to possess unthinkable wealth so I could recruit in masses. Everyone in my coven was going to be exceptionally wealthy and exceptionally attractive. Lust Coven would live on with a little help from Hannah.
I needed Hannah more than she needed me. My bite still killed any vampire, a slow, agonizing death. So I was forced to use a true vampire to serve as my recruitment specialist. It would be entirely at Hannah's discretion as to who she turned, but I had already laid down the rules. For vampires to remain elite, less than one percent of the population could be vampires, I informed Hannah, "you can't just turn anyone."
"Why not?" Hannah quizzed.
"There are really only three reasons to turn someone," I started, "revenge, boredom and love. When you turn someone out of boredom, it never ends well. And living forever may sound great, but as our loved ones get older and die, we remain alive, which is why it's imperative you love anyone you turn. I don't mean just romantic love either. There can be an immense pleasure in loving someone as a friend. It can sometimes be platonic. But regardless," I snapped my fingers at her because I could tell she was trailing off, "I refuse to let you turn anyone who isn't gorgeous."
I didn't know what I was doing when I gave Hannah the grand tour of my home once we finally got back to Kent. If I had known it would be as easy as freeing Rebecca, I would've done it long ago. I wouldn't have let my coven be destroyed.
