A terrible thief

Y/N's pov:

"You sure you want to do this?" Lilith asks me while tying random potion bottles to my belt. "Nope, I'd rather spend a day cleaning hooty " I  just wanted to stay with Eda and relax, but Lilith needs some scroll from the emperor's castle so I had to go and get it.

Lilith looked at me with disappointment in her eyes. "That was a rhetorical question, you're going to the party, here " she stretches the belt towards me.

I take and tie it around my waist. I grab my clock and throw it over my shoulders. "Here's your staff!" Luz exclaimed. I took the staff from her hands and messed up her hair.

I loved the spark in that kid's eyes when it came to magic. She was always so happy.

I walk outside and take off on my staff.

Man, was flying over the boiling isles beautiful. The red trees and bones that poke out of the ground really gave the demon realm beauty.

After about an hour I finally see the emperor's castle in the distance. It's honestly the ugliest building in all of the boiling isles.

"Welp, you ready for this Skittles?" I look at my palisman with a sigh.

We landed on the bridge and I hide Skittles in my pocket. Just in case something went wrong and I needed him.

The castle was nothing but a large concrete box. There wasn't much to it. I pull down my mask and walk through the tall gates. One of the guards directs me to the main hall.

I had to admit that the inside of the castle looked way better than the outside. I admired the teal carpets spread through the hallways. The interior was truly beautiful.

I made my way into the main hall. There are many witches there all dressed in high-quality clothes, all of them were wearing some type of masquerade mask. There's a table with snacks, a stage and large paintings on the walls.

I'm pretty hungry since I skipped breakfast today.

I walked over to the table to grab a snack and look over to the side of the table. A figure with a Golden mask was standing there. Shit. Golden Mask?! The golden guard why did he have to be here?!

Good thing he didn't know what I looked like. He knew Luz, Eda, Amity, King and Lilith. So it made sense that Lilith wanted me to get the scroll.

I look away not trying to draw attention. Slowly I make my way back into the crowd feeling his harsh stare on my back.

As soon as I am far enough into the crowd. I started to head for the door. Two guards are standing in front of it, blocking my way, but I know how stupid emperor coven guards truly are. So getting past them would be pretty easy.

"Sorry, Sir. You're not allowed out there." The guards stopped me in front of the door. Their mask covers their faces. I never understood why the guards had to wear masks

"The apology is mine, I have to use the restroom. May you show me where it is? " I was trying to sound the most professional as I could. The guards let me out into the hall. "The bathroom is at the end of the hall"

I hear the doors close behind me. I know the scroll that Lilith wanted me to get was located 2 floors above. Right beside the library.

I look around and see a staircase down the hall and started to quietly run over to it.

"Shit. " cursed. I realize I damaged my ankle. It hurts so much but I had to keep going. I threw my hood on trying to make my way further but seemed like my yelp of pain caused some attention to happen.

"Going somewhere?" an annoying voice echoed behind. I turn my head just to see the golden guard was standing around a meter away from me. "Hiiiiii" He waved his figures in the air. "Hey" I responded with a smile.

Before he could react I start to sprint up the stairs. The footsteps behind me disappear. I look back to see how close the guard was to me. I couldn't have lost him that easy, right?

Suddenly I feel my body collide with someone else's. I fall down on the floor. My breath was knocked out of my chest.

"Teleportation are you serious? That's unfair dude!" I stad up. Carefully grabbing the potions from my belt. "Mmh, I wouldn't use that if you." I could feel the guard smiling under his mask.

"So whatcha gonna do, send me to the conformatorium?" Great. Just what I needed. Though I did have an idea of what to do.

"Uh-uh. What I'm gonna do is lock you in one of the castle rooms. After all, you didn't commit a crime. Only tried to sneak around the castle, but suppose the emperor would like to have his hands on another palisman. Like yours."

I could feel the anger boiling up in my blood. Was he seriously about to give skittles away to Belos?! I wouldn't let that happen.

" You son of a bitch, Eda was right your voice is annoying. Good thing I won't have to hear it after this." I take Skittles turning him into a staff and getting ready to attack.
