Chapter 15 - Dreams Of The Future

Night time...

Location - (L/N) Residence, (Y/N)'s Room

Your POV

Another exhausting day has been done and dusted. It started off with me going to school, and I thought it was going to be a normal day of school, but I was wrong. I had three exams for three different subjects, and a lot of homework that is due next week.

The next thing I had to worry about was my job at the candy store. The only major thing that happened over receiving shipments for a lot of candies that needed to be stock up. As easy as it was, it was a lot more time consuming than I thought.

Once I was done with work for the day, I got a text message from Ran, asking me on how my day was. I told her that I was glad that the day is over, and I can sleep well. Lastly, after texting her, I got into my pajamas, took care of my night time routine, and climbed into my bed.

"Time for bed..." I said as I let out a big yawn and drifted off to sleep. However, this happened instead...

Location - Wedding Hall

My eyes were open and I found myself in the wedding hall with a lot of people sitting down. I don't know any of these people, but I did spot the members of Afterglow at the front of the aisle. Well, everyone but Ran that is, and wait a minute, why are my parents here?

"Huh? Where am I?" I asked as I looked around.

"What are you talking about? We're at your wedding." Himari said.

"Wedding? What are you talking about?" I asked.

"Did you forget? Today is the day that you and Ran get married." Tomoe said. Wait, I'm going to marry Ran? Did I even pop the question?

"I speak for all of us when I say congratulations to the both of you." Tsugumi said.

"Aww, first Ran started bringing boys home under the age of 18, and now she is tying the knot with boys over the age of 21." Moca said. She would say that.

"Look guys, I'm flattered and all, but I don't even remember popping the question to-"

My sentence was cut off by silence of a piano playing and the doors opening. I looked over my jaw nearly dropped to the ground. Right on the other side of the aisle was Ran and her father. Ran was wearing the most beautiful wedding dress I have ever seen.

She hugged her father's arm as the two of them made their way down the aisle and got closer to me. Eventually, they made it to the altar and the two stared into each others' eyes. We didn't say a single word to each other at all. We just smiled and that was that. Then the priest showed up and this random ceremony I know nothing about has begun.

"Dearly beloved, we gather here today to celebrate the marriage between Mitake Ran-san and (Y/N) (L/N)-san in holy matrimony." He said.

"Before we begin, if there is a reason why these two show not be together, speak now, or forever hold your peace." He went on.

The room remain silent.

"In that case, we will now begin. Ran-san, do you take (Y/N)-san to be your lawfully wedded husband?" He asked.

"I do." She said as she continued to stare at me with a smile.

"And do you, (Y/N)-san, take Ran-san to be your lawfully wedded wife?" He asked again.

I took a deep breath and answered...

"I don't..."

Everyone gasped.

"You said I don't? Why is that my love?" Ran asked.

"Because there is no way I could marry someone without actually popping the question to them." I explained.

However, my reasoning made Ran broke down in tears. Mr. Mitake, the priest and the members of Afterglow gave me a disappointing look.

"Wow, you got a lot of nerve to break my daughter's heart, young man." Mr. Mitake said.

"You'll be going to hell for sure." The priest said.

"Moca-chan didn't raise you to be like this." Moca said. YOU'RE NOT EVEN MY MOTHER!

"I can't believe how awful of a person you are!" Himari said.

"We trusted you with Ran's happiness!" Tomoe said.

"And you ended up destroying it for your own amusement..." Tsugumi said.

But I wouldn't do that to Ran. She means the world to me.

"Listen, everyone, if you can hear me out on what I had to say..."

"Save it..." Ran softly said.

"Ran?"

"I'm going to throw a party when you die." She said.

Everyone started walking away from me. I tried my best to catch up with them, but a glass wall was standing in front of me, and all I can do was watch and do nothing to make them come back.

"Wait, guys! Come back!" I called out.

It was too late... they were out of earshot by now.

"EVERYONE PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

End of dream...

Location - (L/N) Residence, (Y/N)'s Room

I shot open my eyes once again, and I noticed my hand reaching for the ceiling of my bedroom. I began to breath heavily over the dream I just had. At least it wasn't about my parents this time, but boy was it a crazy one.

It started off as a nice, relaxing dream, but it ended up being a nightmare towards the end. I'm honestly glad that it ended. Although this means I couldn't go back to sleep now.

"Great... this is exactly what I need right now... not being able to sleep." I said to myself as I rolled over and stared out at the window.

It was a nice evening outside. There was a lot of stars out, too. I wonder what could Ran be dreaming about right now?
