Elizabeth pov

I walked into the coffee shop. The strong smell of coffee immediately hitting me as I go to sit at my usual table next to the window

I just got off work at one of the most famous,  busiest restaurants in the city of Oahu, hawaii

I'm a waitress there and each time I get off work after working for 8 hours straight I come to this coffee shop.

The waiters by now for sure knew what I'd want each time I came

I dug into my bag and pulled out the book i've just started on Tuesday and since it was now Thursday i'm no where near finished

I opened 'Monday's not coming back' to the page I was on and began reading as I waited for the waiter to come for my order

Twenty minutes into reading I felt a presence near me and shut the book on my thumb

The waitress smiled at me, "Same thing, Mrs. Ferguson?" she asked referring to the cheese cake and chocolate mocha i get each time i come

I politely smiled back. "Yes but actually could I get a muffin and instead of the mocha can I have a iced frappe, extra whip cream please"

"Oh? Switching up I see. It's always nice to try something new. Would you like to keep the cheese cake or are you changing that for the muffin?"

"No i want both, please"

The 53 year old black woman looked at me with a stern gaze. "You didn't eat again today?"

I shamefully shook my head no. I was late to wake up this morning due to missing my alarm out of tiredness. Then once it was my lunch break I had to run my husband, Tyler, some lunch because I forgot to pack his this morning

"You can't keep missing food. You already weight near a piece of spaghetti noodle and feeding off of muffins or cheesecake and coffee isn't going to work" she scolded with her hands on her hip

"I know I know i've just been so busy with work and things lately"

She sighed, "You can't use that excuse forever. Your meal is on me and i'm bringing you some extra muffins to go with that"

"Oh no-" before I could protest she was already walking away yelling 'I love you too' over her shoulder

I lightly shook my head with a smile on my face and went back to my book
