As I finish reading the story I look up at the guest,he is staring at the villager with sympathy.
Huh,I think he's somewhat attached to them especially the villager.
?:What's wrong?
????:Oh its just...Sad to see them not have a happy ending y'know
?:Heh,I mean what were you expecting huh?This place is called 'Bad End Theater' it's a place where many bad endings exist!

????:hmmm,well I haven't done anything with the overlord yet so...The overlord,also can the hero be dutiful?

You are the overlord,you live in a castle surrounded by your demon servants.It's a pretty cushy life,you think.
Except for those pesky humans who keep killing memembers of your demon army,there's even a role called 'hero' whose whole purpose in life to dethrone you!What's their deal anyway?You've actively avoided passing off the humans in hopes they'll leave you and your army alone, but they never do.
You're still new to the whole overlord thing if you're being quite honest with yourself,you don't really understand the politics of it.But,you remind yourself everyone is just doing their best to fulfil their roles,you won't let them bait you into being the evil overlord they expect.Yiu think you're pretty cool and mature to hole a high standard like that.
One of your underlings walks into your room,totally interrupting your thoughts about how awesome you are,they're saying something how boring it is to stand in one place guarding the castle all the time,especially since no one ever comes here anyway.You see their point,but the way they're whining kinda bothers you...
Tragedy:what will you do to this underling?
????:hmmm...How about we grant him the day off?
You tell him to take a break from the stifling castle atmosphere and refresh their dark soul,a day off should be fine every once a while.They thank you and happily scurry off to do who knows what,you have nothing better to do today so you decide to take a nap for a while,being the overlord sure is great.
You awake to a knock at your door,it's underling from earlier,he brought back some company!It's a villager from the nearby human village,he says his role is to be captured by you,the villager then goes on and says that he's been getting very impatient thinking about her impending capture,so he came here to just speed things along.You appreciate his honesty but regret to inform him that you never had any plans to kidnap people,she seems very disappointed by this.
'Perhapa I'm not performing my role well enough,how can I be more villager-like?' He asks,you really don't understand the question.You think this world puts way to much pressure on destiny and junk,just go home and stop worrying about it,you tell her.The villager seems to be having a hard time wrapping his head around this,he insists that he should stay and talk with you some more,you feel warm inside as you look into his eyes,this is the first time anyone has looked at you without contempt.You wonder what to say...

You can't bring yourself send him away,he just got here!You enjoy a nice chat with her,sharing stories about your kind,he expresses he surprise that demons are not all what she expected them to be.You're glad he has an open mind to these kinds of things,you also bring up how you instructed your army to avoid humans,as not to agitate them and send heroes after you.'That explains why the people of my village have been left unharmed...it's because of your orders,isn't it?We're grateful!' The villager exclaims,you're surprised to hear her thank you,you've always thought that humans were to be violent and unreasonable.That's why your servants are always getting killed,despite your efforts to leave them alone.But this villager is...Different.
You joke that maybe you were lying to him this whole time and that you were super evil all along.The villager laughs at that saying that he wouldn't mind being held captive here,'the people in my village can be a little bit exhausting sometimes' he says,you can't tell if he's...Into you or not.
You notice the sounds of battle have started ringing throughout your castle halls,the villager is getting nervous but your reassure him that it's only your underlings rough housing,no big deal.You know it's a hero but you don't want to upset the villager by telling him that,your army will take care of it.
It isn't long before a hero enters the room,b-but he shouldn't have made it here!...Why didn't they stop him!?The hero just stands there unsure of himself,he is covered in...Demon blood.As the villager tried to explain the situation to him,you move past the hero out the door,you're not thinking clearly...seeing your servants bodies in pieces all strewn about the castle has really taken it out of you.
That hero did this?There is so much blood...Why?Did he come for the villager?Did he think...He needed rescuing?No,t-there was no one to save here,there was never meant to be any harm to anyone!You were just...talking to him...Why has it turned out like This?
The hero starts babbling insincere apologies and excuses,realising his wrong doing,but you're beyond hearing that kind of bullsh*t.You've had it with these humans murdering your servants for no reason!You can no longer hold yourself back,and lash out at the hero.
...When you regain control,there is nothing left of the hero,the villager has fled in terror.You are alone.

As the he leaves I hear some sort if fluttering noise next to me,I look up and see a letter falling down,what the?
You grab the letter and open it,it read:

I had just finished writing one of my scripts.One I was quite proud of in fact...As I read it aloud,you happened to pass by.
'What a terrible ending!' You said.'why should these poor souls have to die?'
You were so rude,you wouldn't except my justifications.And yet...You managed to convince me.It really WOULD be better if everyone would live in harmony...However how unrealistic that felt.
I look back fondly of that day,even now.I wonder if,somewhere,you're thinking of it too.
