Prologue

         I opened the door to her office and closed it again. With my back towards her, I asked "You called me, Kai?" "Yes, it was important what I need to tell you." "About what?" "Look at me, Cobra." I took a deep breath, turned around and walked towards her desk. While still walking there, I said, "Go on." "We'll have the two new agents coming here any moment now. I'm thinking you and them will be a great team." "How do you know that for sure?! Remember the last one you gave me? That didn't work out at all! I kept having to save him from death every time and most the missions were never completed!!" "Lower. Down. Your. Tone. You realize who you're talking at?!" I looked to the stare at the wall. I lowered my voice but kept on being defensive. "I can work alone." "You can't and you know it! Every time you go in a mission, you almost fail and you get yourself almost killed! If you won't accept them at all, I'll dismissed you." I kept quiet for everything she said was true but I didn't want to argee to her. "Cobra, please. Can you at least try to be cooperate with them? If they pass their training, and if the first mission fail-" "No, I'll try. Don't make promises. The past I can't forget but it'll never happen again." "Hmm. Very well then." I was going to walk towards the door but I had a thought. "Kai, you don't mind telling me what my team could be?" "Of course not!" She clapped her hands and the lights faded to darkness. The screen in her room turned on and I got to see the two profiles.

     "That's some profile. You had them write you their resume?" "Indeed. A regular resume won't work. Impressed, aren't you?" "You can say that again. I'll try make the best of it." "Alright, you're free to go."
        I walked out and walked to my favorite spot. The ice skating rank. I put on ice skates that can fit me and go sliding everywhere. How I remembered I won so many rewards for skating! As I jumped in the air, I could see Tonia sitting on one of the benches. Ugh! Her, again?! How many times have I told her, I'm NOT interested into her! Why is she here anyway?! I kept sliding, trying not to look at her when I saw someone entering from the back door. Who is she? I don't believe she's with us nor a threat. As I did a twirl, I could see her more clearly as she was right there to the entrance to the skate rank. Wait, that's... Alexis Rodriguez! One of the new agents Kai told me that she'd be my partner! Unfortunately, Tonia saw her and was sneaking to get her. I won't let her touch her! This is a big mistake! Alexis saw her and she accidentally entered the rank! "Intruder!! Cobra, look out!" I ran over to her and grab her waist. She gasped and looked up. "It's okay. Everything will be alright." "Cobra, what the hell are you doing?! She's a intruder! I'm calling for backup!" "What?! No! Don't! She's no intruder!" I looked at Alexis again and she looked confused. "This is big misunderstanding, I didn't mean to enter here, I was just -" "Quiet!! K, I found ourselves an intruder! Cobra isn't turning her in!" I clicked on my watch and contacted Kai. "That's not true! She's no intruder! She's the new agent, Alexis!" Alexis gasped at hearing her name. "Alexis? Really? She's here? Are you sure it's her?" "I'm positive!" "New agent?! Whatever, she can't just burst in here and us believing that she is the new agent!" "Tonia, enough! You can leave this situation to Cobra! Cobra, I want the both new agents to my office please!" "Of course, once I find the other one..." "Over and out." She called off and took Alexis safe out of the rank. "The new agent? Oh please!" "Enough, Tonia! You're not even supposed to be here! Where's your apprentice? Aren't you supposed to be training him?" "Why- You- Argh! This isn't over!" She looked at Alexis and whispered her something I couldn't hear. She walked away and we were finally alone. "Please excuse Tonia, she's a crazy one." "I noticed. How did you know me?" "Our boss talked about you and your companion, Olivia Garcia. She said we might be together as a team." "A team?" "Yes, though I work alone and haven't had a team for awhile. So, where is your friend, Olivia?" "Did something call my name? *Yawn*" We both turned to see that Olivia came walking toward us. "Olivia! Finally, you're awake! I meet one of the agents and he might be on our team!" "Might!" "Yes, might!" "Congrats, I woke up cause I heard someone screaming on the top of their lungs. It wasn't you, Alexis?" "Heck, no! It was another agent which she's crazy!" "Hmm. So, we are at the right place?" "Yes and no, you're pretty much at the back of everything else. Come, Kai asked for me to take you to her office!" As I took them to Kai's office, they asked questions. First Alexis asked one. "Who's Kai? Is she your boss?" "She's the executive boss but we have a bigger boss than her. She's pretty much charge of us and take care of us to be fit for missions!" "Then, who's your big boss…?" "We don't know much about him, he's pretty much in charge of all the stuff of a government. You already know what CIA stands for, right?" "Central Intelligence Agency!" Both of them say it at the same time. "Good, Kai will definitely ask you that and what it stands for. As long as you stay on her good side, you won't be fired so easily." "Say what now?" "What?!" "Heh, oops. Shouldn't have rushed." "You're joking right?" I stopped and looked back to see them in the eye. "Does it look that we're here to joke?" They looked scared but I smirked for a second, went back to neutral and kept walking on. "Don't take it seriously but I was telling the truth, here at the Agency, we have to do everything right! We can't be making mistakes! If you do, well... " I frowned a bit but they couldn't see me. Tell the truth, no lies. "Just try not to do mistakes during the real mission. Just don't, believe me." Olivia now, asked a question. "Question?" "Yes?" "How many years have you been working here?" "Ever since I got out from college. So, when I was 20. That makes a total 7 years. Any more questions?" Then Alexis again. "Um, how long can you stay in the agency?" "Er. That's a question for Kai. I'm no boss or anything, I'm just one of the best in the agency. Or that I think..." I thought they ask more questions but they whispered to each other. Some time pass and we were at Kai's office. "Here we are, Kai's office." I knocked on the door and she called, "Come in!" We all walked and this time, Alexis and Olivia were by my side. "Olivia, Alexis! Welcome to the CIA of California! Thank you, Luke, for clearly the misunderstanding and bring them here. If you didn't clarify, Alexis would be terrified to her first visit!" "Luke?!" "You didn't tell us your real name!" "Well, I know you would figured it out sooner or later. You know now. Hopefully you guys will get your own codenames as well." "I actually have their codenames ready!" "Really?!" How can they say something at the same time? Sometimes I think they're sisters but obviously they're not. "Olivia, yours will be Sona. Alexis, yours will be Lex." "Sona! Wow! And yours Alexis! Lex!" Yeah. Wow." Kai looked at me and waved her hand towards to the door. Oh, that's my time to leave..."Luke, I'll be talking to these two. I'll call for you to take them to their dorms." "Yes, Kai." I looked at Alexis. "You look better in person. I'll see you around, Lex." I walked away and closed the door. I stood against the door and my heart beating felt like it was going faster. Do I like her...? I feel like I have butterflies in my stomach. I do sorta like the feeling. I started walking away, for I didn't need to listen to anyone around me. And for no reason, I started running to my room.
